so im planning on building a 350-450 sized quad for acro and sport flight. what do you guys think? i want to keep it reasonably small. any suggestions?
this is what i have so far:
hextronik 24 gram 1300kv out runners

turnegy plush 10 amp esc's
hk multi rotor control board v3
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__21977__HobbyKing_Multi_Rotor_Control_Board_V3_0_ Atmega328_PA_.html
spektrum 6ch rx
props???
i found these but im still learning about quads:
http://www.kkmulticopter.kr/index.html?modea=vieweng&mc_selected=MultiCopter&sc_selected=Motor&sn=0803sf_4set&id_no=69
3s 4000mah packs
i plan i designing and making a frame myself. im a cnc programmer/machinist so it would be a fun project.
i dont think im forgetting anything besides wiring and that stuff but that will get sorted out as the build goes.
any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Everything looks good so far, but I can't help thinking that you could go with a smaller battery. Something like 3s 2200/2500/2700 would also do the job and will weight a lot less. :)

I'd recommend
Prop balancing tool
ESC programming card
Sounds like a fun project - keep us posted.

i agree i started thinking about that this morning. 2500 should be plenty.
and defiantly Phreak Out i learned along time ago how useful balanced props are.
saves a lot of frustration.

I bought some props from HK with my order, but I also bought some from ebay. A total of 11 pairs. At least some of them should be usable.

Is 400g thrust enough for 450 size or is it depend on the frame weight?

i ended up going with a f330 with naza.
been running 4s, it is a beast.
after being frustrated with naza's lack in over all agility. i just couldnt get flips and other maneuvers like i wanted. after crashing and breaking an arm. im now using a free flight fc on a home made 430mm bass wood frame. using some turnigy 2215 900kv motors and turnigy plush escs. this this rips, it does exactly what i ask it to every time. nowhere near as hands free as naza was but way more fun lol.
after the crash with the f330 i dont think i will be rebuilding it. im gathering supplies to build a f450 fpv ship.

@pete i will when i get a chance. in the middle of adding new escs after dji ones died.
@jaba i was running the dji 18 amp, now im waiting on 4 turnigy plush 18 amps after a dji "locked up" on me after a crash.
