This is probably an easy question. There appears to be some mechanical device that this has that the mCPX does not.
Im referring to the two arms that stick out from the bottom of the rotor hub with ball links connecting them to the top half of the swash.
What is that and what is it for?
Thanks!

I think you are referring to the "swash follower". This simply keeps the turning part of the swash rotating with the rotor. This is pretty standard for most flybarless helis (I think Compass uses a more rigid link to keep both assemblies aligned with each other, but that is another story).
On the mCPX, the same functionality is handled by the two sets of arms that capture the links to the rotating head.
In other words you need something to make sure the rotating swash and balls follow the rotor balls (connected by the links) and keep the same geometry. Also you need to allow for the up and down movement of the swash.

Anyone know how much the stock battery weighs? I have a few bats and I want to see how close they are. I have a Hyperion 1100 and a 1300. The 1300 is kinda fat.
Oh no... not again!

Of course the helis come our of the box set up and tested.
Have Fun,
David
Hmmmmm We have heard that one before!... and the Check is in the mail!

Since the HH guys are lingering here I figure I would pose a off topic question to see if they would consider the situation. Sorry but I am going nuts.
I bought your DX7s a few weeks back.
I love the radio for fling my models. Only thing is the setting up the radio for phoenix is driving me nuts.
I find if I follow the instructions on Phoenix for a programable radio that my DX7s ends up all over the place. Switches are mixed up.... Heli's roll into the ground on take off. There is just two much going wrong to bother with for my liking. ( I hate trouble shooting computers!:arggg:) Anyways I was wondering why not have one of your lovely employees set up a DX8-7s File for us to download. Sure would make things easier for idiots like me:lol:

It is getting much closer, it would be great if we could get a heads up on the battery compartment size so we can see what batteries we might want :D It would also be really cool if HH released the carbon blades and some spare parts so we can get a head start (I fly hard and crashes happen from time to time lol)

LHS had a 450X today. It was tough, but I passed it up to wait for a 300X.

I would love to see a head to head T-Rex 450 FBL BeastX vs a Blade 450X....

What benefit would I get (if any) from upgrading my dx6i to a dx7 or 8 specifically for this heli? Trying to figure out if a tx upgrade is needed.

"needed" no, it will fly it it. Sense the 300x though is flybarless it can use 7 channels because of the fbl unit, I have a dx8 so I suggest looking more into it if you decide to stick with with the dx6i because its different without the 7th channel for the gyro.
Other then that the basic goods that the dx7 and dx8 have over the dx6i, although I would say skip the dx7s and get the dx7 off ebay if you don't want the dx8 because their dirt cheap on their and dx7 seems to be every bodies favorite controller unless they are all about the futaba stuff.
There's also some other benefits I'm forgetting that someone could probably point out, but there usually only benefits to help you like programming, switches, speed, and what not.

the dx8 and dx7s have a few technological benefits
* dsmx = more reliable in a busy/noisy radio environment
* 11ms speed = faster although you might not notice
* dx8 has telemetry, which will be useful for future helis if they put telemetry into new receivers, ie, radio signal strength and pack voltage
from most other standpoints, the dx6 will do just fine me thinks

The gyro is on the gear channel (channel 5).

The DX7s is a DX8 with
-1 less channel (the knob)
-2 way switches instead of 3 way hence only 2 flight modes but 1 (3-pos) for flaps
-no backlight
-little less programming like servo speed, same dr/expo both ways, etc.
To get the 11ms you must be using an RX that supports it and you must be running all digitals. Both radios have telemetry but the dx8 comes with the TM1000 ($56) and limited time you get an AR62100 ($80) and AR6115E ($50) ontop of the regular AR8000 ($130)
So right now its a no brainer to get the dx8 for $130 more than the DX7 because with the DX8 you get $186 more worth of the RX's and telemetry module.
To pick between the 300x and 450x.. What would you guys pick and why?

300x
1. Its size will be extremely forgiving in some maybe 5inch tall grass. +throttle hold
2. Bit cheaper parts and batteries.
3. Plan on getting a 450/500 that I can practice everything with and pick all my own parts and build from ground up.
4. 300 may be smaller but that also means it can fly in smaller areas that I might not be comfortable with a 450 like my backyard.
5. 300 will probably hold its value more for the reason that the fbl unit in it is 200 out of the 300 it costs to buy the heli so you wont lose to much money once its time to move up.

To pick between the 300x and 450x.. What would you guys pick and why?
I was seriously considering the TREX 450 over the 300 X, however at my skill level I think I should stick to something that is cheaper to fix. Also, the 300 X can be flown in a lot more places than the 450.... not to mention do a lot less damage to people, animals, etc etc if I go out of control.
When I am ready for the next step, I will probably go TREX so I can build it form the ground up to learn about each part. However for the time being, 300X it is.
Is a 300 size with beast stable as a 450 size with beast?

No. FBL makes a big difference, especially with the smaller helis, but no piece of electronics can defy the laws of physics. Bigger = More Stable
