Well, ever since getting the Habu, I've always wanted an UM EDF. I know other companies have had one for some time, but I wanted one from HH as I like to buy once. With that said, here are some pics.

Key Features

AS3X System for ultra-smooth handling and precision
High-output E-flite 28mm Delta-V® 180m EDF system
Four-channel control including scale working rudder and nose wheel
Fully engineered intake and exhaust ducting for maximum thrust
High-speed brushless inrunner ducted fan motor, 11750Kv
Near perfect scale outline, authentic detail, and graphics
Includes high-power 2S Li-Po battery and fast charger
Removable landing gear includes simulated gear doors
Full Range 4+ Channel DSM2™/DSMX Aircraft Transmitter Required

The E-flite UMX MiG 15 DF is a 4-channel breakthrough in ultra-micro electric ducted fan technology. Based on the swept-wing jet fighter that launched aerospace into a new performance realm, E-flite® brings an RC ducted fan with true jet performance you can fly almost anywhere. Its appearance is stunning with crisp scale features like a near exact outline, cockpit interior and surface details as authentic as it gets. Its DSMX® control system offers the utmost in precision plus the versatility of a full working rudder and proportional nose wheel steering. To make every flight rock solid, onboard AS3X™ System technology will have you believing that you're at the controls of a giant-scale model, even in moderate winds.

From the looks, it appears that the battery compartment is located just behind the cockpit. You can see what looks to be a smooth plastic surface rather than foam.

What what wahaaaaaaattt?

They finally did it? Wohoooooo... AS3X as well. Nice.

I'd like to see a couple other jets, the mig has never been a favourite of mine.

Nice!!! I knew there was a reason I held off on getting the UM Stryker. When it got marked down I had a suspicion they had something with the AS3X in the works. The wait begins....Also the new Blade 300X looks nice, finally the SR Pro I've been wanting for years, and no tail motor!!!!!

when the migs come out, i'll show you mine if you show me yours' :-)

i did hedge my bet a little and ordered a great planes f-86 with that new tactic anylink piece. I promise to tell you how it does when I get it.... you eat the elephant one bite at a time. :-) you and marco are my brave and fearless rc heroes. Keep him in line and honest, and thanks for the help..... you guys make me smile, and belly laugh......

Glad to help keep you laughing brother. :)

Just hope this thing is fast, that's all I'm looking for is speed. Lots of nice releases from HH today, like Christmas in February.

i was balking when i saw the price, but being a edf/ brushless & as3x....might be worth it, kinda/hopefully ;)

It is like Christmas. I really think I want that, but the the 3-5 minute flight time is concerning. Sometimes I spend my first two minutes after a launch just trying to actually save my acft versus controlling the flight. :-) AS3X sounds like the future, not to make pilots lazy, but to increase the flight envelope and flying conditions..... I got that F-86 coming, will see how that does. Maybe the Carbon Cub is for me. At 3 oz and as3x maybe just what i need for the backyard on windier days. Heavier than the Champ, but maybe not heavy enough to kill the neighbor kids if I should miss.

When batteries are that cheap, 3-5min flight time isn't a problem.... Just buy several packs.

Even the bigger EDFs struggle to fly for any longer than that. It's just not an efficient technology compared to props.

That Carbon Cub paired with the ASK-21 glider looks pretty fun, would have to go back to road runways cause grass ain't gonna work with that cub.
