razor gearing questions fo those who know

Guys i have got my razor hovering today to break the packs in

now my question is

in heli fixed end point mode i only get 1980 HS @ 100% flat throttle curve

i tried govenor mode ( high ad low settings) and at 95% i had 1890HS
now i know the gov needs to be under 85% ish (per finless vids)

i tried all the setting on the speedy (yes i set it up in the same procedure as finless vids with the castle link)

the current gearing is 9.6:1 ( the one that came with the kit)

so if i am thinking correctly i need the 8.8:1 to get my headspeed up to 2100-2200 and then put it in govenor mode at around 80-85% so i have some head room?

current set up is

Hacker A50-14s
CC 85
flight power 10s 3700's ( 2 x 5s actually)

so can someone tell me the correct gearing to get this thing to be a power house ?

im not after flight duration, I want max go !

The recommended ratio is 8.72 at MA site

Dale did you set the end points on the radio to match the speedie sounds like you may not be getting full throttle

A50-14s is 550kv

With 9.6:1

RPM at low load: 2056 at 37 volt
RPM at medium load: 1917 at 33,4 volt
RPM at full load: 1778 at 32 volt

With 8.8:1

RPM at low load: 2243 at 37 volt
RPM at medium load: 2092 at 33,4 volt
RPM at full load: 1940 at 32 volt


I would have run 8.8:1 or even lower if possible, depends on how good packs and how good performance required...

the grear ratio tht came with it is 9.6:1

yeh they are new packs/new machine on a fresh charge it would hit 2050 but then after a mintue or two back down in the 1900's

i really want somewhere around 2100ish HS for fast snappy performance

would i be better buying a Neu 15152y ?

as i only have 4 packs at the moment so before i go and buy more, shall i go 12s ?
how much more go will it have ?

8.72:1 is what you want. Govern it to 75% and it will rip.
