WOW,

Even though I have been flying planks for 15 years ( took off last 5 years) and practiced with the heli on the Simulator for 6 months. flying a Trex450se is not a slam dunk.

I have about 5 flights on it now ( if you call hovering and some forward/backward flight) and can control it pretty well but it is Waaaaay different then the Simulator.
I would not be able to fly without the Sim practice at all and would have crashed already.

The thing that happens when flying the real thing is I tend to watch the heli and NOT fly the heli. Wind also effects this size heli and lastly orientation is different then watching it on a computer screeen.

All in all...no crashes and getting more confident

I think the small helis are more difficult to fly.

I call any off-ground activity "flight"! ... even hover.

In the full scale world, "flight time" starts when you start the engine.

Few small suggestions:
1. Watch the rotor disk.
2. Think Sticks vs RotorDisk to Copter.

Always know where the front and one side is. If you're right handed I suggest the right side, if you're left then track left.

For control think if I move this stick in that direction the rotordisk moves towards this side. If you think this way then there's zero issue based on orientation, inversion..etc.

This mental process will also simplify your fixed wing flying. Once you master this mentally you'll find fixed wing is relaxing because it's nearly zero effort.
