Hi beastyboy,

Important!!:
First watch this Finless video to get the basics of setting up a ESC:
http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=12455

The Ace is a little different in setting up but the basics and safety precautions are the same.
After that it's pretty simple.
First turn on your transmitter.
Then you set your throttle stick to full throttle.
Connect the battery to the receiver and hear the initialisation tone.
after that the different sets of tones for every single setting comes by.
When your hear the first correct setting just pull the throttle stick all the way down.
Now the programming is set for the particular function and the programming pauses.
Once you put the throttle stick back to full throttle it starts again with the next set of tones for the following function to set.
Pull the throttle down again just after you heard the proper tones as described in the manual.
Throttle to full again takes you to the next function. etc. etc.
Once all functions are set you disconnect the battery and when you connect it the next time (with zero throttle of course!) your ESC is programmed.

I have the following settings:
- battery protection: light discharge protection(1st. 3.2V 2nd.2.9V)
- motor timing: standard timing
- brake mode: no break
- Throttle sensitivity: quick throttle
- flying mode: governor mode
Some manuals have a printing error in the governor settings here's the correction:
Airplane mode IIIII - I
Helicopter with governor IIIII - II
Helicopter without governor IIIII - III

example of Governor Throttle-curves:
depends on what kind of head-speed you like...
0 in throttle hold
0-75-75-75-75 curve in normal mode
75(all the way across) in idle 1 (general flying and hovering)
95(all the way across) in idle 2 (3D power)

Hope this helped :)
