installed dd tail motor gws and 3020 prop-- hovered about 5 min and
motor was hot. not hot enuf that i could not keep my finger on it but is was hot. have brushless main and g90. motor on tail runs all the time.
if i turn down the gyro on the tx tail spins out of control. dont want to burn out tail motor im i doing some thing wrong?

if i go to a belt drive can i use the stock radio that came with my cp pro?

i have burned out three sets of 2 tail motors when it was duel tail motor set up.

also witch way does the 3020 go on ?

no you really need a better radio to use the belt drive tail... use just enough gyro to get the tail to hold. just note that with the eflite packs the tail wil still drift alitle as the pack wears down.. some trimming of the rudder will fix this..

i put my 3020 on with the side with the letters facing inwards

shoney side our correct ?

i doubt this would happen but if tis not correctly. there is a minor chance that in flight if the tail speed is kicked up by you or the gyro the pro could fly off the shaft. ive heard my tail rotor spin also twice as fast as it does on a normal basis, when the wind hits it. but that took a bib enough gust to make me almost piss my self. cuz the bird is in the air when the wind hit. this was liek shirt flapping whiel your wearing it wind for about 10 seconds..

Hahahaha, just finished charging, soldering, and setting up my new 1320Mah (t LHS didnt have 910 or 1000) TP pack and had the best flight I have had in a long time. The new Freestyle belt drive mod is so damned cool. I need to play with the gyro settings a little to get it perfect but even still I could just completely let go of the left stick all together...well for about a min or so than I would make slight adjustments and let it go again.
OH! The only part about the experiance is that I was on my 5'X5' apartment patio and about 7min into the flight a gust of wind kicked up and tossed my CPP into my neighbors apt. It of course busted my new blades, new main shaft, and I am sure the new spindle is gone too. :arggg: :arggg: :arggg: I have really gotta stop testing my heli out is such small areas....or maybe I could at least keep things to a low hover. DUMB DUMB DUMB.
Good new: Freestyle belt mod is in perfect condition. LOL

stay atlest 2ft off the ground. and hell man learning in a small crapped area will make you a better flyer. but also could run the heli bill up

hahaha, yeah well I have learned to fly a CPP in my Three places and all are small, smaller, and really freekin small. LOL. Over my bed (queen), living room 4'X'7', and Patio 5'X5' ish all of the about filled with plenty of obsticles. So yeah I have become wicked good at hovering below 8' but you take me outside that box and I am a little sketchy.
Actually I am pretty good with FF and RF, and ok at side in flight. Nose in I am still pretty uncomfortable with, although I have days where I don't seem to have an issue with it. Now that I have my heli pretty much locked down it's time to practice practice practice. 3D soon baby!!! :lolol

id get good at hovering up higher in all directions. i dont get jitter till about 25ft from tail in. side in is around 15ft.. nose in will be done around the 25ft mark..

Mortificate, Is this the belt mod you have? http://www.freestyle-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=32&products_id=29
That looks like a real slick steup. I dont know if I would be able to swallow that price though. Do you have any pics of your belp cp?

No the one I have is the mod for the CPP (and several other cp helis) it is the belt drive mod 1 (http://www.freestyle-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=39&products_id=199). Yes it is a VERY slick setup. When looking at the price keep in mind that it's not in US Dollars. There is a little menu on the right hand side of the page that will allow the site to display the products in USD. Thus far everything I have seen from Freestyle hobbies has been VERY nice quality and arrives (to the USA) in a timely manner.
Yes I have pictures of my CPP with the Belt mod on it. You can see some of em in my Gallery on this site. I went and picked up some CNC Rex tail stuff today to make things look a little "slicker" LOL

im so stoked i want this kit so so so so bad...i need to upgrade the 10in woofer in my trunk to a 12.. so i was thinking about selling it and getting the belt drive mod.. but i dunno a mustangs stock sound system sucks..

Yeah it is a load cheaper in USD. Another thing to keep in mind when considering this belt mod is that a lot of the parts that will need replacing over time are not exclusive to this Belt mod. The boom can be replaced with a Easton Fatboy 400 (or something like that), a lot of the tail parts are from the Rex which most LHS will carry and you can use the Old Rex's belt if in a pinch (Don's HD belt is much better and more durable). Also if you own a Rex than buying spare parts for your CPP is also buying spares for your Rex.
LOL, this is starting to become a Belt drive thread. I have never tried the DD tail so I cannot compaire. I have run the Dual tail mod and it really doesn't compare to the belt drive at all. I did like the dual tail but only when I was running the stock motor with the 9t pinion. After going brushless and installing the 10t pinion it was totally worthless.
