Blades out of track?

What's the best way to tell if your blades need to be tracked? I just can't seem to tell just by watching the blades. Someone suggested red tape on one blade and blue on the other. How does that work? Will I see one color or the other and be able to tell that one of them is riding higher than the other?

I watched Gary Travis track my blades once and he just seemed to be able to tell by watching the heli hover.

Any suggestions from you experienced pros would be great!! :D

If you are unable to tell by hovering and watching, the tape idea probably won't help. Maybe get a helper while you hover it? Then you can focus on flying and they can check to see if the blades look like they are in the same plane.

Of course, if they are in track, the disk will appear to be as a thin line in a hover.
