I have the Spectra-G Tempest FAI Head kit. In the manual it recommends the Miniature Aircraft 0510-1 Fly-bar Alignment kit. I noticed that Miniature Aircraft also sells a 0510 Fly-bar Alignment kit. What is the difference and which one is compatible with my kit?

510 contains some pieces that would be used with the plastic head block.
510-1 is just the flybar alignment paddles. That is all you can utilize with the metal head block rotor heads.

I am looking at some 95mm 3D paddles from V-Blade. V-Blade recommend sputting some weight between the paddle and the head because they're so light. Is this necessary and do I need to find a paddle that will fit 3mm (assuming that is the size of the flybar? I believe the V blade paddles say they will work with 4mm so I am not sur they can be down sized. Thanks.

The Spectra comes with a 4mm flybar. The V's fit it perfectly. I run the V paddles on all my MA machines with no flybar weights without any problems. Just make sure and limit the cyclic travel when you first start flying the spectra. As you get used to it you can increase the cyclic deflection. You are going to like the V's they are very nice. I run the 710 Mains and the 95mm padles with very good results. Very good all around and also very good auto performance.

Awesome. Thanks, William. So 95mm will work then?

I used to think I could eyeball the paddles and was doing it for years. I used the alignment gauges and found all mine off. I now use it all the time, when setting up a new ship, rebuilding, or just occasionally checking things. The gauges show the paddle alignment to each other and also to the head. Not saying they cannot be done by eye, but I find it easier and more consistent with the gauges. Also the swashplate leveling tool is a must for setting up the ccpm on the machines, you may think it is level but when you put to tool on you will see. Dave

Not really a level as the swashplate level references level to be perpendicular to the mast. It is really a swashplate square if you look at it that way. A must for properly setting up the CCPM though.
