View Full Version : Balancepro 6s Adapters
Anyone know of any place besides fma direct to get the balancepro 6s adapters? having to spend 20 bucks and then 8 bucks for shipping on an adapter is a little retarded. Can the connector that it uses be bought locally?

I personally haven't gone to look for those particular connectors, but I've used similar ones on some telecom OEM work. Various manufacturers are Erni, Positronic and one other that I cannot remember off hand.

I bought some at Mouser in the past - again not exactly these connectors, but similar ones.
Look for mixed contact D-sub connectors

Update: Corrected part numbers for the correct gender connection
Here's what you want to buy from Mouser to make your own BalancePro HD connector pigtails
These are Mouser part #'s (www.mouser.com)
Housing - 152-FM7W2S, in stock, $3.08 each. Has the smaller pins already installed
High current pins - 152-FMP006S103, in stock, $2.29 each, 12-16AWG wire solder cup. You need 2 of these.
Mouser has no minimum and you can specify first class mail shipping.
Doing so I was able to buy a set and only pay about $3.00 for first class shipping. Ordered on Friday and received it on Monday!!

and these will fit perfectly? that should be a good deal.

If I picked out the correct shell and heavy contacts, yes they will fit correctly.
Just to be on the safe side for your first purchase, get a pair of these 40A contacts also
152-FMP007P103 2pcs at $1.83/ea
I cannot tell if FMA is using the 40A or 20A contacts.
aren't they the same size contacts?

aren't they the same size contacts?
Not the mating portion, but the shank that fits in the housing is. You might give FMA a call and see if they'll tell you what size heavy contacts they are using (20A or 40A)
Update: I just checked Positronic's website and you're right, the pin mating diameter is the same no matter the amp rating of 10, 20 or 40A. Just the allowable wire acceptable gauge changes.

Yep, I picked the wrong gender, DUH!
I ordered what I believe are the correct parts and will check them out when they arrive, then will correct the post above.

Updated the first posting to the correct part numbers.
I received the parts today and they are the correct shells and contacts to mate up with the BalancePro charger.

does Mouser also sell the connector ends to mate to the TP pack balance connector?
