Hey guys...

I'm flyin a 600N with a 611/9256 in 3d mode...

I set my limits while in rate mode so that I get max pitch in each direction on my tail.. limits are around 120% in each direction..

My question is... do you guys find that in 3d mode you need to set your rudder ATV's higher than 100% to get a good pirouette rate? The manual makes it sound like 100% ATV on the rudder is going to produce a super fast pirouette, but it doesnt. I tried bumping my ATV's to 120% in each direction and the pirouette rate increased nicely, however I dont know if I should have to do this?? Is it bad for anything? Also, how do I know if I'm dialing in too much throw and stressing the servo??

First it does not matter which mode the gyro is in to set the limits.
You want to set the limits on the gyro so that the tail pitch slider is just binding in each direction and then back off couple of precent. It will not bind in flight.

All of this depends also on the mechanical setup. How far your out from center on the tail servo wheel. Where the pivot point is located on the tail pitch slider. Lenght of tail blades, etc.etc.

Rudder ATV's is what controls the Piro speed. The rudder ATV has nothing to do with travel of the tail servo. The gyro controls the travel distance of the servo.
