View Full Version : GY611 question re Piro rate and F3C/3D mode

i have a trex 600 with the gy611 gyro, and am confused about a couple issues about the gyro.

1) the manual says the F3C mode emphasizes tail suppression and stop, while the 3D mode lets you control pirouette speed completely proportional with the rudder stick.

so what happens to the pirouette speed when in F3C mode? if not proportional? then what?

and what do the end points do for each of the two modes? seems that in 3D if proportional, they should set the limit of pirouette speed. but what exactly do they set in F3C mode?

2) what does the avcs sense function do? it says that when in the 3D mode this value becomes the pirouette standard value. if so, what does it do when in the 3D mode?

thanks for any insight.

mark,

as far as i can tell on mine in FC3 mode you set the pyro rate by increasing/decreasing the end point of ch 4, and that being the only way i see to set it. Higher the value the faster the rate and vice versa. For 3D mode i could never get the tail where i wanted. The tail suppression is slower/softer and i didn't like that feel. I prefer the crisp stop and feel that FC3 offers so I haven't played with 3D mode more than 1 flight so i couldn't give u any aid there

In F3C mode. You can use the CG ( Channel Gain) adjustment to increase piro rate. Scrolling thru the menu it is will look like this. ACGA or ACGB, the A and B at the end is left and right direction. You have to adjust both sides. If the gyro is in normal mode, there will be an N as the first letter. A is AVCS mode, N is normal mode.

3D mode will give you a more constant piro rate.

AVC in the menu is an adjustment for how the gyro will stop the tail. You can adjust it to the point it will drift to a stop like an old mechanical style gyro would do.
It is a nice feature to adjust how abrupt you want the stops to be.

The ATV on rudder channel also controls piro speed.
