i have a radical 30 with 231puh,i want to use a multigov pro.i installed magnets in my main gear when i built it but now i don't know what gear ratio to select in the configuration module. i just received my new multigov and i don't see any place on my fan for magnets and really don't want to tear it down to install fan magnets unless i have to. can anyone help me with this.
has any one used the stock sensor to pickup flywheel magnets with good results

How many magnets will trigger the sensor?

I have two one for trigger and one balance opposite of course.on my nitrous you put them on the fan.the century website shows a main gear with pre drilled holes that's why I put magnets in main gear.but a nitro with magnets on the fan you just input ratio and
fly,by installing them in the main gear what would be correct ratio to set in module 6.428?

With magnets on the main gear, your Ratio is 1:1, provided as you said only one magnet will trigger. This is because for every single rotation of the gear your head will spin 1 time. Each rotation of the gear there willl be on trigger. If you set it for both magnets to trigger, it would be 2:1, 2 triggers per 1 rotation.

The Fan and Bell spin at the same rate as the engine. That is why you would use your gear ratio in that case. If the case of your Radikal, if you put a single trigger one either the fan or the hub and you are using the stock gear ratio, then you would set it to 6.43:1.

If the MultiGov will not allow you to use those value, your other option is to trigger the sensor off the magnets on the fly wheel. I am sure with a little thought you can come up with a way to mount the hall sensor to pick up that magnet. I have seen some people epoxy or shoe goop the sensor right to the crank case. Either way should work. Tape the sensor to the case and spin the engine by hand and see if the Multigov sees the trigger point. In this case, your gear ratio will be used.... 6.43:1

thanks again sparks, after work i tried the sensor on main gear and it worked but i had a tail kick due to throttle response.after several tries setting my air gap.i glued the sensor to the crank case, reset ratio for another test wed.

I hope you have better luck than I did with the flywheel and the Multi-Gov. When I tried it the bench said it would work fine, but as soon as the motor was running the LED would not blink steady and the gov. never would lock in right. Someone said if you get a Stator Gator and run a power feed to it, it should work, but I ended up putting on a GV1 then went to a GY750.

To update ,my sensor glued to crankcase works flawless

deisel,

So how is the Multigov working out for you with the 231. I was under the impression that the Multigov and Gas engines in general do not play well together. I am always looking for other options when it comes to governing an engine.

i flew it Sunday Sparks and it worked very good ,but i am waiting for some warmer weather to really put it thru the passes.
