Well I have been flying for about 2 months. ok My about 4 I forget. My wife said she wants to try a heli. I said ok. BUt I have to fix mine first. i am getting her on the sim and trying to hover and stuff., but what have I done. There goes some money for my helis. It will all be worth it in the long run though. She just wants a small elec. I am debating between fixing my fixed pitch one letting her start with that one, or going to get her a 30 nitro version. I have all the field setup for it. And if she doesn't like it. I have another nitro.
I suggested she sell her dolphins she has like 200 to 300 figurines. She would not go for that. Also tried to get her to let me put some stuff in the living room.. She had none of that either. oh well we will see. Till then my mounted bobcat is still in there..
Going to try to get her on here soon too see she is not the only female flying helis.

P.S. My daughter wants a r/c truck. Broke my heart :dontknow

That's terrific that your wife wants to get into helis!!!
There are more coming out of the woodworks now at my local field since they see me out there all the time. You 2 will have a blast together!!

Hi all,
Congrats!! I think it's great your wife is interested in heli's. I would get her into the sim and then the FP. Then move up to the 30 :)
You both will have a ball!
One hint, just because she's interested in heli's does not mean you can turn the house into a den of testosterone or heli-central......smirk
Cheers,
Leslie

Totally of the wall to "let her try a fixed pitch"! Dont you want her to suceed? would you go for a FP if you knew what you know now and you should buy your first heli? Give her a fair chance to learn this noble thing and buy her a "real" heli with CP. Of course it make sense to demand that she can do a decent hover before going for the real thing, thats what I demand from the very few people I learn to fly helis.
Fixed Pitch, what a turn of! Please!:bawl

My wife was interested until she gave my little coax a try. 3 seconds and one crash later she decided she did not need another hobby.

Hey, what kind of RC Truck does she want? just tell her, Daddy can help you with helis and helis make you smarter! Just try... if she wants a toy grade car, just get her it. She'll want to go over to helis if can take her to the field ALOT.
