I'm a newbie still doing alot of reading. I was looking to purchase the triton 2 charger; however, if I read correct I would then have to purchase a DC/AC converter $80?

Is there a decent charger in the price range of the Triton 2 that has both AC/DC.

Thanks,
Reading alot newbie

Very few chargers are AC/DC because the world has not agreed on a standard voltage. You can do a search about using a old PC pwoer supply to make an AC-DC power supply.

If you are charing lipos on, the FAM CellPro is cheaper and is a very nice charger. It is a balancing charger. With the Triton2 you need to get an external balancer, like an Equinox. I have the Triton and Triton and an Equinox and it is a very nice system, especially if you also fly any NiCd/NiMH packs.

Yeah don't forget the balancer also. I'm a newb and I went with the highly recommended Bantam Estation BC6. Charger with AC/DC input and balancer. Very nice - about $160 but it's a complete package.

pinecone made a mistake when typing the name - its called the fma cellpro 4s.

it runs on 10-15v dc, not ac. it only costs about $60 and charges 2-4 lipo cells, with a maximum of 3 amps (or the newer version, which i think can charge up to 4 amps). it shows % of "fuel" left in the pack, charge rate, individual cell voltages, overall pack voltage, ammount of mah added to the pack and charge rate in amps. it also balances the cell voltages which is needed for lipo packs and making them last a long time. it dosent have as many features as more expensive chargers, but its perfect for basic charging.
