I see that the Mini Titan manual shows a magnet on the "throttle" cable before it's plugged in to the Rx.

My ESC does not have a magnet on that cable. I bought one from a local hobby shop, but the question is, should I install the magnet or not ? What does the magnet ring do ? If my ESC didn't come with one, will it make a difference if I install the magnet ring ?

The ring you see on the throttle cable is a ferrite ring magnet. It is used to suppress radio frequency interference emanating from the ESC. I only have one 450 size electric heli and have found it unnecessary in my application. That is a Castle Creations ESC and a Berg receiver on 72mhz. A friend has twelve, yes count them, twelve T-Rex 450s and he doesn't use the rings, but he is on 2.4gHz. You may find it necessary to use a ring.

Is he the type that crashes one or two per day? I have a friend that goes through Raptor 50's like that.

If I was runnig an FM system I would use it without question. My buddy was having a few glitches and put one on and stopped the problem.

FYI the rings are not magnets, but they are ferrous (same type of material).
