Until we hear from these "locals" as to what makes them sure that the use of packs other than TP was the cause of their resets, it remains hear-say.

I have been using Turnigy's for the past 18 months and they are near end of life, but never a hint of them causing a brown-out, and prior to your post above, I'd never heard of anyone experiencing a brown-out using budget 20C batteries.
You can use such claims to convince yourself and justify your purchase, but like me, I doubt that it's working on others.

For $25 you can get a good Gens Ace, and who needs the crash insurance on battery packs - not me, I'd rather have a few extra battery packs.

I will personally stick with the TP's"

"Of course I personally don't know of it's from a power dumb on a cheaper pack"

As you can see, I never mentioned one hint of validation so I'm not sure what your saying but it's great to have good experiences with your Gens.

That peace of mind comes at a cost. If the failure rate was high on other battery packs, such as Gens Ace and Turnigy, then it would be easier to justify the cost of that "peace of mind".

The crash warranty isn't only for a battery failure, but for any unforeseen crash.
:)
Saved me money on my 600.

Sorry it's a bit humorous that I made clear that some resets were "mentioned" after flying cheap packs and that I basically said it was only what I have heard and made my own conscious decision to just spend the extra $25 buck on high quality Thunder Power packs and there was an instant defense regarding the cheaper packs...

I only posted what I ended up doing for my own personal best gut feelings.

Cheers, I'm sure all the other packs are just fine as they have worked for many
:cheers

No attempt to validate what sounds like a highly unlikely course of events - just muddies the waters.

These forums are great for sharing own experiences, and with this, the HeliFreak community will be in a better position to make educated decisions in their choice of product.

You see the battey debate is opinionated already as well as the 3GX reset concerns.
Everyone has tossed many things up including not enough power to the 3GX so these are already out there.

I simply added another thing for people to think about regarding both items together from people who chose not to use forums.
:dontknow

I though sharing the experiences of those that do not come on forums might allow those with the know-how and background to test but I do see why these people don't use forums for posting but browsing as the debates occur.

I appreciate being able to read and research the ideas people post and wait to see I any others have similar situations. Anywho, no muddy water intensions here

Below is a link to a very useful trial by one member - this is what made me lean towards the Gens Ace.

The trial was on the preferred battery size for the 550, but still has bearing on the choices we make for the the 450.

I dont like voltz batteries. I have 6 of them two already died and others bad conditions. Fast degraded. But TP is awesome batt. Still can draw maximum power
