What suggestions do you have for URLs and/or ideas for building tips for the mini Titan?
Plan to build the TTR4710-K11 kit c/w motor and ESC and use HS65 servos and a Futaba Gy401 and 9650 for the tail.

Just read the booklet that explains everything with great detail. I have built a few kits and I think this might be the best one. There are no pitfalls lurking and by the time you get going it's over. Good drawings and clear identification of harware on every page. Even the ccpm explanation is good. The most time cosuming part has been the cutting out of the canopy and decals. TimT

1. Glue the head onto the main shaft
2. Glue the inner most bearings (the ones closest to the head block) in the blade grips.
3. Buy Align Balls and links. Two packs of HS1155T & one pack of HS1074
4. Buy Align tail blades they are better balanced. Part# HS1208T
5. Stock main blades are AMP hogs!!! Align Main Blades Part# HS1158 or Radix makes some sweet ones!!!
6. Be sure to buy HS-65MG servos for cyclic (they have metal gears)
7. You will need a 1/16 drill bit to drill out the holes for the larger Align balls. (Get it at Sears cheap)

Great feedback, thanks.
Will a regular size pitch gauge fit or is smaller mini one required?

I use a cheap plastic E-flite pitch gauge. I use it on my Raptor E620 and everything else. I like it.

Anybody tell me which servo horns to get so i can use th stcok balls and screws. the balls and screws that came with the kit are to small for my hs65mg, and my s9650 tail servo horns. i was trying to stick with the titan balls and links. i am just about finished except this issue. just wondering what everyone else did to get it setup that stuck with the tt links and balls. Thanks.

I really thought the hole in the HS65MG sservo horns were small enough for the TT stuff. I had to drill them out 1/16 to fit the Align SS balls.
I tell you what. I have some left over Align Stanless Steale balls and screws. I will pop you 3 balls, 3 screws and 3 link ends in the mail that I know will work. PM me with your address and they go out Monday morning. Oh! It's free!!! Just want to help. Let me know.

Thanks, after looking at it a little more carefully, and moveing 10 other firefighters out of my way(they all think they can fix it :) ) i found the smaller holed horns and cut them to fit and got that part. but i still dont have the right sizes for the 9650 tail servo. thanks for the offer and if you think thats what i need i will send you my info and i re :noteworthy really appreciate your help. :noteworthy

Just let me know if you can't find a servo horn that will work.

Heres the latest. there was a round futaba horn that came with the s9650 and i was able to drill a hole and put the ball on it and it seems to work fine so far, it was about 1.5mm short of the reccomended length. it will at least ge me in the air.

for the 9650, use a small piece of snipped off servo horn from one of your hs-65's. run the screw all the way through the 9650 horn and into it. this will secure your ball link to your horn. this will allow you to use any of the holes on the 9650 horn. i think i had to use a longer screw (like the ones to hold the screen on the canopy). i struggled with this for a while as well.
stare at heli, play with parts, stare at parts, scratch head, drink beer.... repeat.
a few hours later i had it.
let me know if that works.

I have just started to build my Mini Titan and i have brought some extra metal bits for the head. I am usng aG-Force head and washout but the control arms are not available yetso i brought the Align mixing arm set.
I have tried to exchange the washout links that go to the swash plate for the standard ones but found that the hinge joint is a slightly different size and doesn't fit the mixing arm, so i am struct withthe align link down to the swash plate.
Now my question has anyone changed the standard balls on the swash plate to the larger Align ones ??
Thanks in advance.

Yes switch the balls. I used a 1.5mm finger drill bit to do it. The align links work great and yes you have to use the Align plastic arms. The are backwards on the ball but its not a problem. Be sure to really soften up the dampers in a vise or with pliers. Crush, mash, squish the crap out of them if you want totally consistent tracking. Lube with a small amount of rc car shock oil. They will look horrible after squishing but dont worry they will work better than ever. Good luck!

Thanks for the info, when you said that the arms are backwards on the ball do you mean that I have to put the arm on the ball and then screw the ball into the swashplate??
I am using the G-Force head so I am not using the standard dampers, I went with the middle dampering option (of the three offered) with the supplied six o rings.

I am using the align al v2 mixing arms on my MT & I did what you described and poped the ball in and then screwed it into the swash. However other just pop it over the ball backwards and state that it is just fine with no slop.
Also, as far as general build tips go. I have one. Take the stock woodies that come with the mini titan and stir some paint with then or throw them away. I just put some radix CF blades on my MT & WOW, what a difference. Heli is flying much better and my flight times were improved.
