Has anyone ever tried using a bike computer (magnet with computer) onboard the heli to dial in head speed? If so what are your experiences, what kind do you use, etc.

Can you use any bike computer? What are the requirements?

Most bike computers won't support speeds fast enough and/or wheel sizes big enough for the KMH=RPM conversion discussed in the runryder thread.
If you already own a computer you can work around the wheel size limit (but not the speed limit) by doing the conversion manually, but if you are buying a new one I recommend going for one that someone else has tested!
Note that the first runryder article has a slight error 'cos it says you should set the wheel diameter to 1667 - it's the wheel circumfrence that should be 1667.
Some bike computers work with circumfrence, others go with diameter.
