I just did the brushless motor upgrade, and am having lots of tail boom strikes, whats a good way to stop them? stiffer O-rings?

check the 2 bolts that go through the grips to the feather shaft i think it is. but make sure they are have thread lock and be careful ive seized alot of things up by using to much thread lock. also make sure your blades do spin freely in the grips. you want moderate pressure. before they move

What blades are you using? wooden, fiber, Carbon? The fiber ones bend easily and cause alot of boom strikes, as do the plastiblades. Hard landings also cause them. IS your head tight with the proper "O" Rings and spacers in between the head block and blade grips? A tight head keeps the blades in line , and also quickens the cyclic control. Check those things first.

I use Plasti-blade but never had strikes before the motor upgrade. I went back to the brushed motor and no strikes so far.

I cant see how a different motor would cause these probs..... :?

switch to some eflite carbon fiber blades..

You may have a slight amount of negative pitch on low throttle so with the increased head speed that downward thrust and pull on your blades will increase. I would imagine that if you land hard and throttle down too fast going to negative pitch while the head still has significant speed would increase your chances of a strike.
LOL, just my guess. That's the only explanation I can think of to explain why a differant motor would cause the additional strikes.

I had to remove my plasti-blades due to boom strikes - any extreme move would cause it. Perhaps with the motor you are moving more quickly / crisper?
But it can happen with the stock motor too.

the only time i got a boom strike mid air i had lost control and was fighting it . i think i just put in to much extreme stick imputs. to rapidly.. but i have heard that plastiblades or what ever there called cause alot of boom strikes.. in all honesty some of eflites stuff doesnt suck.. the cf main blades are well worth the money. esp if you fly over grass ive got around 13 crashes on my eflite carbons..
