Yeah. I like the body so much I had Tim Schoonard at MA make one for me and he custom painted the tail fins in yellow and green splatter to match the canopy. The horizontal painted fin I received is actually larger than the CF fin that came with the kit.

I know you wre asking Yellow Spectra for his flight report....but...
I had the best flight of my life today with my Spectra G!! Man do I love that machine. So smooth but nimble at the same time. It is the finest machine I have ever owned. I LOVE it!! Yellow Spectra, there is a learning curve with gassers if your used to glow, but I can tell you first hand that you are going to love it!!

Thanks, William! That 's awesome to hear that you love the Spectra. I definitely will experience the learning curve for gassers. I can't wait! Any problems with the machine on yoru first flight? Also, how important is it to balance the rear T/R?

I did not run into any problems on my first flight. You will be shocked how low your throttle curves will start out especially with a new motor, but just take it slow and break it in slow. I have a little over 1.5 gallons on my motor and it is starting to come alive in a big way.
John balanced my TR on my highpoint before fixing it onto the tail output shaft. I'm not sure how important it is, but my heli is very smooth so it could not have hurt.
You are going to love it Phil. :D I had to call my wife and a few friends to share the excitement today after I flew I was so happy and excited. I am such a kid at heart, but it sure was a nice diversion from the regular work grind...

What do you mean with 'learning curve with gassers if you used to glow'
Does it differs alot, flying it, compared to nitros, if so, please let me know more about it.
Or is it more of a difference of setting it up and so on?
Thanks! :)

Nice looking machine. I think what he meant by learning curve is that if you take a gas motor and set the curves like you would with glow you will find that the headspeed is screaming. Most guys tend to do this at first. There is just something that does not seem right about having the throttle curve set so much lower at hover than you would with glow. Of course, he could be talking about something else.

what headspeed are you running?

What paddle spec should I be looking for to replace the stock ones on the Spectra G? I know the rod is 3mm but how about length? Will 90 or even 95mm work? Thanks again for all the great compliments.

Also, can I use V-blades that are 720mm with 18mm roots and 5mm bolts? Thanks again.

I got the MAH paddles and really like them. Fit and finish is tops! 720s IMO would be too long. I feel like my 710s are almost too long(I have tempest head version as well).

Love the heli, looks great :noteworthy , I'm still working on mine trying to get it finished. Just want to ask Will or anyone else who has their spectra flying if you are having any problems will excessive vibration. A mate of mine was having real problems keeping the hatori muffler tight, it was loosening off after every flight. There was also some wear on some of the plastic parts due to vibration. We both have G26 zenoahs. I am considering :dontknow puting a thin rubber gasket between the base plate and engine and the support ladders at either end to try and eliminate problems before they occur. I also noted the coment about reduced throttle settings being different from glo, will this cause extra vibration?
