I see the TDR is now not high class heli but middle class. :)
I am sorry, but the Banshee cannot be 2.5 times better then TDR. If you want to have the best item, there is a huge price difference between great product (TDR) and (maybe) perfect product.
Anyway, average RC modeller thinks the TDR is too expensive so he gets Align (good performance and quality for the price), the 1% gets a TDR because of the simplicity and performance and of course there will be 0.1% of pilots who wants the best and have money for it.
Nothing wrong.
One day, i was driving on the highway at 130km/h (legal limit), BMW M5 overtook me at about 150km/h, what was a suprise was Bugatti Veyron closing fast (180-200) on him half a minute later, "forcing" him to move to the slow lane.
There will be always someone with better stuff, but i would rather have the M5 then Veyron, because there is something called performance/price ratio...
At the end of year 2011, there were 2 Veyrons registered in Czech Republic.

You could only email your order to them.

For me it was not about being "better" but I ordered the Banshee as it was different enough to the TDR that I wanted to experience it. It's a gamble but what worthwhile thing in life is not?:)
It is much like winding your own motors. Not a necessity but you won't experience the thrill untill you have done it.
Hopefully the mods will allow us to keep on posting about the Banshee over here...definately fits in better here than with any other heli make.

No it isn't like that. The email said the shop would open at 12 noon and it was first come first serve. At 12:00 the site came to a halt, in my case it crawles to the shop, then the kit selection and when I got to register for checkout it already showed the error. My take is as soon as they filled the 50 it didn't allow anyone else to proceed. There'll probably be 50 happy German owners. Ahhhh, Internet.....

Nope, you could only email your order to them today. Everybody got the 403 error when trying to register. Read here (http://www.banshee-helicopters.de/index.php/en/shop/product/view/1/13).
The initial order can be made only per email. Please include all necessary data. To facilitate a smooth and efficient processing of your order, please provide the following information:

I really love this kind of humour! :rotf
I think, you all know, what "banshee" means:

I hope this is not a bad omen to the pilots. ;)

You know it won the speed record with the complete speed fuselage. Without it, I wonder if it's even faster than the TDR?

I bet that fuselage costs another $2000!

How do you determine motor pulley size? I wonder if the 2499 euro price would be minus the inclusive 19% tax for the US customers?
abanihani
06-10-2012, 04:29 PM
My invoice was 2100 euro, so yes we don't pay the 19% tax in the states, lucky us I guess
abanihani
06-10-2012, 04:31 PM
They also did not charge me for shipping so I think it is all inclusive as they marked 0 on shipping space

Same here 2100.00 .
FYI:
Variable reduction ratio between motor and intermediate shaft: 1:4 – 1:2.88 (18–25 drive belt pulley)
Reduction ration between intermediate and main rotor shaft: 1:3
