I am a very novice RC helicopter pilot and recently snapped the “ball” off of one of the main blade grips of my Heli-Max ACE CP. As an engineer, it appeared to me that this was probably one of those pieces that designed to break in order to avoid more serious damage elsewhere. My problem is that I can’t seem to get the old piece off. I purchased a replacement part and looking at the exploded diagram in my manual I attempted to remove the old part. I removed the screw that holds the blade grip on to the feathering spindle, but just couldn’t get the grip to slip off. Are the bearings pressed on to the spindle? Is there some trick to removing the main blade grip that isn’t obvious? If anyone can help me so I can get flying again soon, I would be very grateful.

I asked the tech at Hobby services the same question. He told me to remove the screw, the flybar link and the grip should just pull off. The bearings push out the same side as the screw.
I hope this helps.
