I am having trouble with the NiHM pack I have and thinking of getting an A123 pack (from somewhere). I don't know anything about these packs or volts, watts, building batteries, etc.
Is there somewhere I can just buy a pack, plug it in and fly?
If so, what pack do I want for FF and hovering? What charger do I need, will a Triton 2 charge this pack?
Thanks,
Lane

The cheapest route is to buy the Dewalt 36v packs off of ebay for $100. They come in 10s1p. You will want to run 10s1p setup. You will most likely have to change the pack configuration to fit you frame. The new l500/600 frames should fit the stock config. packs.
I think tanic packs sells pre made packs but you pay for it.
Check out Garys site at tppacks.com for motor/a123 setups.
Don't think the Triton 2 will charge them.
Here is a A123 build tutorial:

6s a123 will not be good at all. The a123 cells are 3.7v vs 4.2v per cell. You have to run higher cell count. Anything below 10s a123 is not a valid setup and will result in very low duration.
