Hi Guys,
I'm having an issue with my MA Razor and maybe someone can give me a clue as to whats causing it. I'm running the Razor with Jazz 55, NEU motor, and 2 (5S Flightpower 20c). The problem is that the ship feels weak because its going at a very slow headspeed. I use to run the throttle curve at 85% on all 5 points and was getting 2150 rpm headspeed. When I kicked it up to 95% on all 5 points I was getting around 2250 headspeed. One day the bird felt weak and not zipping like it used to. I just tacked it today with a buddy of mine and we got 1930 rpm on 85% throttle curve and 2000 on 100% throttle curve. I was like "WOW" this is the reason why my bird feels so weak. The difference between 85% and 100% is only 70 rpm. In addition, at 100 throttle curve, I should be getting closer to 2300 - 2350 rpm headspeed not 2000 rpm.

I keep the throttle curve the same on all points to keep the esc on governor mode. I'm running 600mm Align blades. I charge the batteries with the TP 10/10 with balancer at 3.7 amps. The flight times remain the same and I've never crashed the ship. I had only about 40 flights with it and it started happening around the 34-35 flight mark. Maybe I need to reset the speed control? Maybe the ESC is not sensing the correct amount of throw?

Thanks in Advance!

Bub,

My first quess would be that your batteries are starting to sag. I had a similar problem with my 1st set of Evo20's on my Ion-x. Great for ~30 flights, and then the power, and HS, started falling. They seemed to charge and balance fine, just did not have any zip. My onboard Wattsup meter showed that the voltage was dropping a lot under load and I was unable to pull more than ~45-50 amps max.

I sent them back to Flightpower and they replaced them. I put these in and got all my power back. I've got ~200 cycles on these cells now and they are still perfoming well.

If you have a buddy with a 10s setup, you might want to let him try these cells in his heli to check this out.

Cheers, and good luck sorting this problem out,

Tom C
