Does the Rave ENV Electric FBL and Rave Ballistic FBL fly the same ? I have never flown one but in real flight I sure like the way the ENV flies. Is it the same with a real ENV or Balistic ?

Really depends how you set it up. I don't have an electric ENV, just a nitro and a ballistic... but the fact that you have direct to swash configuration on the ballistic will definitely change the way it feels in the air somewhat.

Ballistic should fly alot better, having direct swash makes a difference and it should fly lighter bc it is lighter

It does in fact flight somewhat lighter and is very responsive. However, the ENV electric flies excellent as well. So, they both fly awesome and track perfectly.

I keep coming back to the Rave Ballistic. I like the direct to swash servo setup.
I want the Black Version for the Scorpion 4525-520 motor, metal bearing blocks, metal gears etc. But I want a brighter canopy.
So will the Kontronik 120 HV ESC and Futaba BLS451 and BLS251 work, and the internal BEC ?
So I will have to buy a brighter canopy.

We'll you could sell the canopy, since you cannot buy the Black edition canopy separate. This would help to get the canopy of your liking

I am using the HeliJive120 with 3xBLS253's and a BLS251 with no issues on the internal bec
So I will have to buy a brighter canopy.
Sick Canopies has 3 available canopies for the Ballistic at Curtis Youngblood Hobbies
I hope this helps

Will the Kontronik 120 HV work for the ESC. The internal BEC and the BLS451 and BLS251. This is my preferred setup. If not I would get the YGE 160 HV and use the western robotics super BEC.

This is my first Kontronik. It has been working without any issues in both the bec and governing. I do run a 4 cell 800 NiMH eneloop buffer pack just in case there is an issue.

Amain Hobbies has a Ballistic with straight gears for a good price. Very tempted but I wonder if I will need to upgrade right away to the hellical gears ? and end up spending the extra money anyway ?

Well that is a good price. If you buy the kit you are going to need a pinion, so you may as well get the helical cut pinion and main gear (about $60) The Steel Helical Tail Gear Conversion Set are nice but for now I would go for the helical main.

Here is a link showing Hobby stores in the Canada area. If you scroll thru the international area you will see about 3 shops in the Canada area.

Thanks, the one I bought has the straight gears. It was a ENV converted to Ballistic. I plan on flying it like that until I need to replace the gears. Then I will think about the helical main gear and metal tail gears.

The Canadian stores for some reason do not show the parts for the Rave Ballistic 700 on their websites ? I deal with Great Hobbies a lot and RC Flight Store. Great Hobbies is not too far from my house in Edmonton. I will talk to them about bringing in parts. They have The ENV kits on their website for a good price but not the Ballistic 700 or 635 ?

I've never ordered from them but as the price of the parts is the same everywhere, I'll give them the priority yeah. They have a VERY nice customer support (even if they didn't answer my question on the 635 weight :whip) from what I've heard.
Don't worry too much for parts, any big shop will have them in stock, just go for the most interesting one for you when you will need parts.
Enjoy your ENV ;-)
