Charley,

I got both my G10 and black CF kits! Props to you! I don't know when I'll be able to put it together because I'm playing with my new toy (iPhone) but I need to get one of my TRex 600s in the air so hopefully it will be soon.

Thanks again and I hope you're feeling better!

A couple of notes building the HFX frames

1 Using 9252 servos you only need one spacer on the Aileron and pitch servo also if you put the sub zero arms on the inside of the servo wheels it makes aileron and pitch rod to the swash 99% straight

2 using 9451 servos you have to run 2 spacers on the aileron and pitch servo also putting the sub zero arms on the inside of the servo wheel makes the ailron and pitch link 99% straight

Elevator takes 2 spacers wiht either servo

Spacers go between the frame and servo as explained in the Instructions

Thanks Bobby!! Also thanks for your help in development in this kit from the beginning your input and flight tests was a key asset that really helped me get this thing together.
The RX tray was your Baby

Matt, Thanks to you also your input was a great help with development in instructions also in the new AR guide that was your Baby
Also your build thread which will help many in the future!

Just got mine down in Oz - thanks for the prompt shipout Charlie :noteworthy - looks very elegant and can't wait to start building - Bob had better get cracking on his video as my JVC is all warmed up and good to go ......

PS - THought I might put in my newly received 1515/1.5Y with 8S lipo - any thoughts if this is a good combo or should I wait another 10 weeks and get the 1910H ??

Charley,

I just started putting my G10 frame together (for my 6s) and I have to say that this has to be one of the nicest frames I've put together. It feels like i'm putting together a MA Stratus. It's well thought out and beautiful. I absolutely had a ball with it. I'm almost done. Just need the tail boom and to finalize the electronics. Hopefully the heli will be flying soon!

Once I get my Neu motor for my 10s back from Neu, I'll start working on the CF frame.

Again, I must give you your props! This is an absolutely beautiful frame!

Charley,

I agree with docjoe...The quality of your frame is totally awesome. I'm out flying again (work) for a couple of days. It will be great to get back and start the build. :D

Have a great 4th!!

Here are a couple of pictures of my G10 HFX setup. I just need to set up the linkage rods.

After this is up and running, it'll be time to work on my CF HFX frame for my 10s 600.

Hey Joe,

Your build looks REALLY nice!! Are the servos that you used 9451s?.....It's hard to tell. Did you have to use extensions at all? Making mental notes for when I get there.

Thanks!

George

George,

Those are 9451s. I did extend the servo wires. I didn't use servo extenders but went for soldering a longer length servo wire with servo plugs on the ends. I have a crimper tool and made them just right so that there's not a lot of excessive loose wires around.

BTW, thanks for the Neu motor! We'll see how it is when I get this bird up and running this week!

Got mine finished last night and test flew it today. All I can say is WOW!!!

My Setup:
HFX G-10 Frames
Z Power Z50A-600 w/14 tooth pinion
CC85HV w/UBEC 6volt
15s A123 batteries

I am not sure what the headspeed is but I first tried it with the 16 tooth pinion and it scared me. I switched to the 14 tooth and it still sounds alot faster than stock 6s w/11t pinion.

Here is my finished HFX!
I used MinAir servo studs on the Hitecs with one servo spacer and the subzero arms installed on the inside.

Neu 1515/2.5D/F
CC HV85
DX7
Hitec HS5625MG
Logictech 6100t
TPX 6S 5000

Sorry about pic quality was in a hurry.

Here is mine. HFX 10S1P stick runner. Flew a couple quick flights tonight on it, nothing too hard however as I want all new parts to mesh and set in nicely. Plus I am recovering from some majors lately so I want to be carefull "for awhile" lol. Anyhow no weird tendacies in flight, it flew well.

My only thing I am not finding is how anyone is getting over 12 degrees of pitch and 7 cyclic without any rubbing or binding? My top brass of washout is hitting the bottom head block at anything over 12 deg collective. I played with the linkages "alot" and found best I could do was 12/12 collective and 7.5 cyclic. I know I can lower swash and get more travel that way., however that "really" limits collective on bottom end of the swash. As it was to make sure I had no rubbing I dremeled out small amounts on top frame both sides so swash did not hit.

Other than that I am happy with it.

Looks good Shawn! I was able to work on my 10s CF frame. I'm using 2 5s packs so I'll be stacking it in front like a brick. That's one long battery. The frame suits it well!

Uhmmm :? I just finished setting up the pitch curves and anything more than +11.5-11.5 and the swash hit the frames on negative and the brass insert of the washout binds on top.

You can remove some material off the top of the washout to get more travel. you will also have to remove some of the length from the pins on the head. You should be able to get at least 13/13 and 8 out of it. I was able to get this on the original layout before the anti-rotation bracked was added. You should now be able to get a little more than that with some work. You may also need to Dremel the tops of the frames so the swash arms do not hit at extreme throws.

Ticidytoc:

Do you have any picts of your mods? Not sure what you mean by "pins on the head"?

Thanks,
