you all have b@lls of steel in my book. Can't wait for the day when I'm confident enough to even go half of what you guys are doing. Good job to all.

I am curious about all the orange stuff on your OB. Did you make it all yourself? Looks very effective. I'd like to put something like that on my Bergen. Might be very helpful keeping my orientation. Any tips?

Brady,
I designed the large tail fin and the good folks at Bergen were kind enough to make it up for me (that's called customer service for those not familiar). :D
The large panel in the rear is made of lightweight corrugated plastic. I hold a PE license in the State of Ohio in redneck engineering  so it is attached under the tailboom with sections of wide rubber sweeper belt. It is secured to the boom supports in the horizontal direction with another interlocking section of the corrugated plastic.
This has all been submitted to the FAA and I have received approval for said modifications to my aircraft type certificate.

I would imagine that even the slightest forward speed in an auto would keep the tail right where you wanted it with all that surface area. :)

Can you actually auto a beast like that? I cant imagine trying to auto my trex 600 with the askman mount swinging underneath it!
BTW Mark, when do you guys plan on getting more AP2000i's in? I NEED one!

Your exactly right. I also get zero tail kick with the combination of the fin/panel and tail weight for CG correction needed to offset the 8 lbs. of camera. I actually have to remove the panel for shots that require flying sideways at brisk speeds.
You can't auto a 35 lb heli with this rotor diameter and come to a complete stop. I can slow it down a bunch though. As usual this thread has strayed way off topic hasn't it. Sorry.
