I tried setting my throttle cut to SW>H, but I am getting no response from the throttle servo when i hold it down. Does anyone have any pointers for setting it up?

When you set up throttle cut you also set a percentage in the "THR" field which is the maximum throttle stick position you can have and still activate throttle cut. Have you set this percentage above 0%? Setting the "THR" percentage is done through positioning the throttle stick and then to press the jogger dial until the TX beeps. Is the throttle stick position below this level when you try to activate throttle cut? Also, the "MIX" field should read "OFF", not "INH".

that sounds pretty straight forward. I will try when I get home. so what does mix do? and what does inh mean? I've seen that in a few places.

MIX is whether the mix is ON, OFF or INH
INH means its inhibited and will do nothing.
ON means its enabled AND the switch that controls it is in the ON or selected position.
OFF means its enabled but the switch that controls it is OFF.
In your case you would set INH to OFF with the jog wheel. Then when you hold the throttle cut switch it would change to ON.
