hey all
well today was another day to go to the shop to run another tank to break in my os37 on my 30
so we put a pipe through the landing gear and bunjy corded it to the pipe
so alls well and we started her up
ran her at 1/4 throttle
so i dont know what happend but my instructor said "i dont dare do that" and all of a sudden iit hits HALF throttle by itself and 2 secs later it RIPS ITSELF OFF THE LANDING GEAR AND lays itself on itside and when the one blade was ripped off it made a dent in the building and also made a outragusly loud shotgun sounding boom! it annoyed the people at the nextdoor resturant
im just posting this to let u know to check ur radio system/failsafe thouroly for glithcin/malfunction
btw happy fathers day

Don't trust the landing gear to hold down a heli. Strap down the frame if you're gonna strap it down at all.. How come ya just didn't make the thing slobberingly rich and hover a tank?

I started breaking in my new raptor. Good to know about not trusting the landing gear. I made mine slobbery rich, the smoke haze was burning my eyes!

No need to strap down a helicopter in any form.

strapping a chopper down for anything other than transport is asking for an accident.
Hopefully the $20 will teach the same lesson as $1000 would have.
Break 'em in in the air.

Many helies will go into ground resonance and self destruct when strapped down, especially at very low head speeds.

Hovering at least 2 rotor diameters high, is a much better break in that sitting on the ground.
On the ground, or very low, you will be kicking up a lot more dust, bugs and dirt for the engine to eat.

Wow! I don't think I would have the guts to tie down a running heli. For me is as scaring as to hold it by the boom while hovering.

yea i gotta let the guy know that but we dont have much space for hovering
guess we will have to travel a little
but thanks for all the tips guys
