Hey , well alittle update on this machine , been running well on 12s with some 620 VBlades for a while , 24-4 been running good, today I had a 32-3 laying , so since I was running the 620s , well what the heck, my flight times with a 11.4 have been 6 mins all you can throw at it with the 3800s and another min of lazy flying , and 5 min with the TP 3300s. well with alittle tinkering Im think the 32-3 will work fine , just got to change the ratio to get my flight time up , 3300 , the flight was bad to the bone , but 3 1/2 mins just aint ganna cut , 10.8 gear ratio , gov down a tad ( guess (90%) will change it to 11.4 and see what happens ,
Yesterday

Today
a sweet spot for the razor with the 32-3 , 12s , gearing , 11.4 , I put a watts up on there , flew the snot of of it as hard as I could , tictoc all day long , 5 min. flight I hit 2300 watts , and the reaction was what I seen that was impressive, not the watts , amps 55, used up 2500 ma, also put the 3300 back on there after the gear change from 10.8 to 11.4 , Im back at a 5 min flight with those, Ill get a video of it when I can find my cuz, Karl, hes been hunting! those 620 VBlades rock. 24-4 is good , but its easy to dip into the amps and watts

Great vid mate, thanks.

Tony, I think you are confirming what a lot of us have thought for some time. The Razor is truely in a class somewhere between 50-90 sized E-helis. Call it 70 E-sized if you like! This may also help justify the additional cost of the kit to the marketplace. It justify's it to me.

Trying to motorize it as a 50 E-heli w/600mm blades is not going to work since the disk loading will be too high. A good powerhouse like the Actro 32-3, 620-640mm blades (@2000-2100 hs), and 10-12s 42-4600 mahr cells has got to be the way to go.

Did you have to do much to shoe-horn the Actro 32-3 in, or was it pretty well a drop-in?

Thanks for, as usual, pushing the MA envelope. This helps us all in the long run imop. Well done mate!

Best cheers,

Tom C

The problem is that the disk loading even with the 620's will still be high cuz the V's 620's are aboutt the same size as a Rotortech 610 and not that much bigger than 600's cuz they're 620's from tip to tip and not from bolyt hole to tip.

V's are still my favorite :D

Check it out.

Right, probably need 640's imop to make significant disk loading difference.

True, that's why when I was initially planning on getting a Razor I was aiming for a Neu1521 motor, 640mm blades (if I could find them) and 10S batteries. Unfortunately having too many other projects going on with limited time kept me from buying it :(.

Great video Tony!! Thanks for sharing it! Looks like it can tic-toc all day long with that setup :).

yeh! I been talking with my cuz about bigger blades since the heli has a different weight class than most of the 600s out there, ordered some 640s , and was thinking hard on the 660s too ,

Tony who makes 640s and 660s? Will there be enough clearance for the tail blades?

Sab makes a 640mm and 660mm blade and there are NHP Razor Pro 660mm blades (good name eh?). Probably others, but those are the first that come to my mind. Do a Google search to find local suppliers of these.
