Thinking about using this set-up over using a 401 and 9254..I am sure people have already used them, so I am wondering how it compares to the 401 with 9254..Is it just as easy to set-up compared to the 401 and 9254??Any info on the G7703D/S8900G Gyro/Servo Combo Pack would be great..

Thanks

The G770 is not yet available in the US. Horizon Hobby has 6/20 as the ETA for it.

I got to fly the 770 at IRCHA and it was rock solid. It works very well with the JR 8900 on the tail. Has nice even piro rate and holds extremely well in tail-first flight, which is where the 401 fails the most. Like the other JR gyros, you have to run the gain quite low, but for some reason even at low gain settings the 770 holds very well.

Sure it is, You just have to get on the list with the right folks.
RHR can get them, I've already got 2, and it's easier to setup than a 401, and holds better than the 611 or logictech 6100T!
Lower in cost by a litle bit, it is freakin' AWESOME!
Overall it took longer to squint and read the instructions than to go through the entire setup process. First flight for me only required a reduction in piro rate to make both directions appear equal.
The T600N will require a little dremel work to relieve the servo hole in the frames, takes about 2 minutes.

I just removed my 611 from my rapy 90 SE, stright forward to set up very easy, but the only thing that worries me that there is no delay and if i have to install one on one of my N9s is the gears would they strip, plus the servo is so freaking fast ? how can i slow it down on the 10x as i have droped the D/R up to 80 but again still seems fast

I'm wondering the same thing. I don't want a super fast piro rate.

Hi,
I do also have a 10X, but I just added some expo to slow it a bit down for my Airskipper. On the Vibe actually I added some expo to make it even faster (negative expo they call it I think). I haven't found any problems with doing this, of course you shouldn't let the stick just go, always hold your finger on the stick. I think some 20-30% expo will be perfect if you are not sure if the gear will hold it.

@bgjames111, if you don't like a very fast piro rate, just bring down the rudder ATV.

Call me crazy but doesn't the speed of the tail servo affect how quickly the gyro can react, thus making it more accurate the faster the servo is? I'm pretty sure the piro rate is purely affected by the travel settings in the Tx and not the speed of the servo or framerate of the gyro. Even a slow servo/gyro can make your heli spin like crazy, it just takes longer to move the pitch slider over to where it needs to be.

I could be wrong here but I think that's how it works. The G7703D doesn't have a delay pot but it does have an output switch for high or low framerate. I'm just wondering where's the led light that shows what mode you're in like on the 401? That won't hold me back from buying it... I just like the light. ;)

There are several people that have been running the 770 on Vibes and Synergys that have been stripping out Crown Gears left and right.

The ultra hard stops of the 770 are obviously what's doing it, however even with some added expo they have still managed to strip them.

Any suggestions?

I found that by reducing the gain (the gyro still holds fine) and slowing down my piro rate, it softens the stops quite a bit.

bgjames111---

What gain settings are you currently running? Thanks.

my gain setting is about 60% on my JR radio.
