I picked up a Revco 11t with the intention of using it with my HW esc. I recently moved to a Jive HV before using the 11t. My goal is to get the most efficiency with the gov that I can, not so much the wildest headspeed. Is there an advantage going with the 11t from stock with my new setup considering my intended goal?

FYI- I fly around 2100rpm.

Thanks!

I think 11T is your best bet. It's my understanding that the 10T is good up to about 2050 governed. I know 10T works fantastically at 1950.

with going up a tooth on the pinion and running a governed head speed (im thinking 1950 in idle 1 and 2200 in idle 2. and running th 11tooth pinon on a cchv80 am i going to end up having short flights because im using a govenor?

I've read a bunch about the 10 vs 11 set ups with the stock motor. The concensus is basically what The Bum offered. I like to run ~2100, so the 11 tooth by report is a better option. I'll hopefully have some values to share soon.

You're looking at around 6 minutes at 2200 with good packs and a mix of sport and some 3D

Ya you really need 11T to make it go. I have 12T in stock but have never installed it just crazy power governed 2150 on 11T Castle 80....

I recently changed to 11t and won't look back 2150 governed on cc80hv gets about 6:30 putting 2000-2200 back into 3000mah packs. Sport with mild 3d.

+1. Love the 11t. I set my throttle at 70% and letter rip. Can't believe how much go it made. It made a new heli out of it.

Are 10t pinion included in the kits? Not sure what my headspeed is but i guess i have 10t pinion.

the stock pinion is a 10t one, it also causes the heli to make a geary sound which i really hate.
i have a 11t revco and it really was worth the money, higher HS and no more geary sound. overall the heli is quieter.

BTW- I've got ~12 flights with the 11t pinion and I'm VERY pleased. I get >2200rpm at 85%! To me, it flies with less bogging and it seems to hold and track more precisely. Well worth it!

I just run 100% flat on 10T ... the 6HV is too quiet already, i need to add a baseball card to it or something.

Thats funny, as i think 1900 sounds scary fast. I used to run 1850 but now knowing a bit more about escs and input capacitors and phase currents and such, i think ill bump it up into the low 1900s for this season.

1900 too fast ?
I have always run my 600E gov'd at 2200 , only for landing do I use 1950
The 6HV is gov'd at 2250

I've watched Dave fly his at 1850 and he puts on a good show with it. He isn't hard smack but nice controlled aerobatics. In fact it was seeing his 6HV that sold me on the model last fall.

I run mine at 1950 and it's still almost too responsive for me.

I ran up around 2500rpm for a few flights. I do mean few, it started snapping/shearing the grip bolts that go through the Y arms in flight. I run a 4035-560 motor with 10T pinion. I find 2050-2150 to be plenty fast headspeed and it still holds itself together.

I quite literally meant it SOUNDED scary to me, like a buzzsaw. But thats just because im used to lower headspeeds and quieter flying. Theres nothing wrong with 2200 rpm, other than the fact that my instinct is to use earplugs and hide behind a brick wall when someone flies with that headspeed.
