Guys,
I've got a Raptor Titan but am looking for something a bit different. I would like a heli that tracks better in FFF as well. I'm interested in the Knight helis because of the vids I seen and online comments from other flyers. First, I'm a bit gunshy simply because I haven't seen anything in the press about this line. I've read through most of what's on this forum and its pretty positve. THe price is great, for both the Sport and 3D. The fact that heliproz carries them suggests parts may be around for awhile. Is this a good purchase? Next, which one should I get? I see in photos the 3D appears to be all metal from the swash up, except for grips. But I read a great review of the sport. Seems like a very capable machine.
So what do you guys think?
thanks,
Dave

Dave,

You will definately like either one...they both fly great. However, if you are more into 3D flying, you will love the 3D. It's a little higher CG, the frames are G10, and all of the CCPM servos are push/pull linked to the bellcranks. It's also a very light heli on the low side of 7 pounds ready to fly.

I've flown Raptors, and compared to them, the Knights fly like they are on rails.

Guys,
that's encouraging news! I started out just wanting something a little different. 'sounds like I'll be getting better performance, too. I know guys who have taken the Rapor upgrade path to the rediculous. That's cool and all, but in the end all you've got is a pretty Raptor. I think its time for a Knight.

So I made the call and a Knight 50 sport is on the way! Should be great. I'm doing 401/9254 on the tail and I haven't decided what on the cyclic. This should be a really fun heli, because it will fly great and due to the price I won't be afraid to fly the living crap out of it! Thanks for all your advice, guys!

Great Congrat. on the new purchase.... I'm running a 41 on my sport and 8311's on the cyclic... The 3D I'll run a 6100T and 8311's on it as well.... I'll use the sport to try new things out and let some friend's fly and the 3D will be the everything else heli...

Dave,

You're going to like it! I predict you will be selling the Raptor to buy another Knight.

:lolol

I'll bet you're right! Its funny, what did it, made me grab the phone was I was getting ready to replace the washout assembly on my Raptor. When I removed the main mast I checked the bearings as I always do and found the top one was getting notchy. I thought about the chore of splitting the frames on a heli that's currently annoying me and grabbed the phone instead.

Electronics are on the way. I got three 9252's for the cyclic and a Duralite 5.3 regulator with a 4300 Li ion batt. Should be sweet!
