Guys:

Using some prototypes here, some stuff we are looking to bring you all very soon...revco, cf blades, motor/esc's and some other goodies for this bird, including the hurricane and a full line of parts and upgrades...we sure have been hard at work. We also want to take this time to introduce Chris Harmon as part of the Ready Heli Team...im sure you will all agree he has a bright future ahead of him...

Video is encoded in MP4 & MOV, so it will work in most players. Also, it was 8:35pm at night and we had the exposure opened way up so there is a few focus tracking blurrs...sorry.

WMV coming soon.

THAT is some nice flying! I have not seen anyone wring out a Cane' to that degree yet.

I guess the gears held up fine :glasses2:

DAMN IT... how about encoding something I dont have to find a codec for like MWV etc..... I have a ton of movei tools but your MP4 is casuing an error!

THIS is the heli i want! Whats the setup!

Finless

Damn John.... thats rockin!

Head speed sounds even better than my setup but scary! I know you made some mods to the tail! I bet something along the line of what I have been doing? And I know your using Adrians gears!

So EXPLAIN the SETUP please!

And what is the motor and esc?

Me WANT! Tell us the setup pleeease!

Thoose gears are VERY welcomed! Getting tired of ripping them with the Z30 setup.
Even when flying at 85% the stock gears ripp. They hold for normal flight, but as soon as you start pushing for HARD 3D you end up with an Auto!

ok, ok. ;-)

Motor: Its basically a 1100Kv 1500 watt brushless outrunner that is going to be here when our shipment arrives from overseas from GAUI. We are also going to test a NEU concept.

ESC: 75 amp prototype. It too will be available to Ready Heli.

BEC: Went with a Medusa Potentia 5/6v here...im running all digitals (S9451's). Western Robotics will be coming out with a 7amp bec soon, however.

Packs: FP 2500 evo25's x 2. We are sagging these packs after 3.5-4 mins here during intense hard 3D, might get a couple mins more or maybe double that in sport flying. I wish I could get the evo30 3200's to CG. New frame will fix this, and we are working on a candybar and brick config option.

Head: CNC upgraded head. These parts will be avail from us as well and are en route.

Tail: This is the weak spot...during piro tic-tocs its just not holding 100%...we are trying to work with GAUI to get us all thrusted tail. I am also thinking my 9254 is somewhat culprit, so we are going to be re-doing the tail with thrust bearings (Adrian thought of angular) and a different gyro. As we are going up in headspeed and sagging the packs the tail is not holding...it definately wants a bigger disc or more authority.

Boom: Short boom with new prototype (RCP) 500mm Herringbone Blades. These things are the goods right here. I will have them from 325-690mm soon. Ooo Baby.

Gearing: Revco Perfect Circle Primary/Secondary w/ 22t hardened steel pinion. Adrian is working on a production run right now.

Headspeed: Don't know, Kyle keeps forgetting my damn tach. Ill get this number for you this week. If I had to guess, my junkyard math would say about 2550.

We are also working on a Custom Heli Parts Carbon Fiber frameset with Novaman, and different tail options (Finless discovered the TT Tail concept)...however to keep it convenient for everyone, I will see if GAUI can make design changes to fix this. Carbon Fiber fins, revco gears and pinions, canopy options, really efficient motor designs, and VERY awesome cf blades with swept tips (nice fart sounds)

Chris is flying my dx7 in that video, st-1 80%, st-2 100%. No governor. Ill see if we can get the eagletree micrologger to fit inside the canopy again to get you all some wattage and amperage numbers...i think we were south of 60 amps last crash (lol) so 25C 2100's would effectively be a little shy of providing useable current during hard 3D runs with adrians gear train.

hope this helps for now.

I´m flying the Gaui 75A ESC as well, a very nice one it is. Wow, thats the new Gaui motor? Looks good! I did´nt order any, since a really like the Z-power ones.

May I ask why you are running the short boom?

Because part of what we do here is try, fly and break everything...thats the only way to know if its worth bringing it to you all...and its kinda fun too.

It helped CG the ship a little bit better, and we were testing shorter main blade options, but as we increased headspeed and harder 3d maneuvers, its apparent we need to focus on more mah in our packs, longer boom and stiffer tail. Our next venture is 550's with a longer boom and evo30 3200's. We are trying to hunt down nice thrust bearings right now, and cf tail blades.

make no mistake, the ship out of the box is a great beginner/intermediate ship with 2100's, but like any other ship, once you venture into high headspeed territory and add hard 3d maneuvers, it needs to be dialed in more precisely.

Any plans to offer an "SE" version with the metal bits included?

I hate buying a kit, knowing I am going to not use large numbers of parts.

Without letting too much out of the cracker jack box of goodness, yes there are plans for another heli, as well as a cnc tail upgrade. I also got confirmation in my latest conference call that cf blades are near as well.

Gaui allready has a CF frame, and are planning a SE version. But, they will first release the CF frame as an option. I have seen it, looks really nice, but the servo layout is the same as on the plastic version. I'm not alowed to post any pictues of it yet. I would have liked a simplified direct ccpm setup, but hey, thats for all the 3rd party vendors to come up with i guess.

About the gears, I´m not sure yet, but I did a test today. I let the pickup gear boil for 5 minutes and then let them cool down to room temp with the water (slow cool off).
This process often makes molded plastic stronger. After 3 hard flight today, the gears held up fine, looking like new. So this might be the trick to get your gears hold up longer/better.

Hey Bob, notice that Tom said what I told you, Gaui has a CF frame already.

Ye of little faith. :)

The CF frame Rotorworkz and I may work out will remove all the links and crap..... Thats what I was talking about :)

Bob, I would probably choose your frame instead. I thought the whole idea with the CF frame was to simplify the design. Instead they are making it like this...

YIKES... looks like an expensive frame to CRASH!

My plan with Rotorworkz is to eliminate the transmiton which means a larger main gear and get the servos direct to the swash.
