Seriously guys, I run a Raptor set up with 4 9252's, 401/9254, GV-1, and 149DP Rx off a 1500mA NiCad pack and have no problems getting in all the flights I can handle in a day off of one night's charge...
Why do people have regulators and add complexity to a simple system? I'd like to run an identical setup on a T-Rex 600N I have coming but I think I'll be the only one not running a fancy setup with glow ignitor/lipo bling. I can't really see where it will help my flying...

Well dont do anything just because someone else does it.
If you are happy with the nicad, stay there!
Its no problem !
I will have the regulator , but i had some lipos for 2s already!
I will not do the mistake that others do. To convince you what you should like!
You like it, fly it your way!
Most of us, come from the 600E and are used to lipos !
If i had a raptor i would not change my nicad or nimh!
And something else. I will have the regulator but i will order some time, a pipe and a pack of nimh , just in case...!!!

I run my 600N off a 2000mAh NiCd and run the 600Es off the BECs - as Roinides points out most of the E flyers are electron junkies and the more LEDs and heatsinks the better :?

the reason we run regulators is to get a constant 6V to the servo's which speeds them up. with the 4cell NiCad or NiMH, the voltage is below 6V so your not getting the full speed of your servo's. Pretty much that's the whole reason for running a regulator...

What about weight lipos are lighter by far? Plus the 6x reg from align with the igniter and battery monitor is great.
All my birds are lipo or Ion because of the increase capacity with reduced weight and some of the fail safe features on the regulators are nice as well. No switch contacts!!!!
