I'm running all Futaba radio gear (9c Super). If I decide to switch to a DX-7, will I have to replace RX batteries, switch harnesses, servos and all, or just the receiver in my planks and helis?
I'd hate to have to reprogram and trim everything, but to lose the freq. pin and get that improved CCPM response, it might be worth it.

Yes, you can reuse everything except the receiver. You also have to trim the little tabs on the ends of the servo connectors.

I'm about to embark on that very journey. The programming on the DX7 looks pretty straightforward. Gonna find out for sure as I tear my 450SE down and make it the 1st Spread Spectrum victim of my fleet.

I'm still not completly sold on the DX-7. I think I might go with an XPS module and receivers until Futaba comes out with a fast, affordable, 9 channel or better 2.4 radio, without the latency of the 9C in CCPM.

or this will be available in couple of weeks and you will only be giving up one channel over the 8 channel that will not be here till later

All the others are only going to be able to only use 8 channels with the 9C also. It is going to be the same latency time no matter what brand SS is used.

I think that the XPS module and receiver for $200 makes sense. $1200 for a transmitter and one receiver is a bit high for now. In the two years or so until I feel limited by latency, the 12FG will be cheap and affordable. In the meantime, I can convert my whole fleet for the price of the 12 FG transmitter.
The damn thing looks sweet, though...
