I just moved up to a Mini CP after playing around with my CB100 for some time. I need to replace the tail boom, but can't figure out how to get the broken end out of the main frame. The CB100 uses screws to hold it in but this does not seem to be the case with the Mini CP or Genius CP.

As far as I can tell, it is just press fit into the frame because although I haven't tried to take it all the way out, I can slide it in and out a bit without there seeming to be anything holding it in place.

If it is broken off and you can't get ahold of it, you could try finding a screw of the right size, self-threading, and screw it in to the remaining part of the tail boom and then pull on the screw head.

That might work.

I had a similar problem with my mini cp. Sheared off the two front landing gear mounting pegs inside of the air frame. Used a drill with a small drill bit to corkscrew out the pieces stuck inside. Similar idea to what Heli-opolis suggested.

I like the drill bit idea better because a drill bit that size is very likely going to be significantly longer than a screw of the same diameter.

Nice idea!

Genius is the same way. I ended up breaking the tail boom off right at the main frame, and used an exacto knife to get the remaining pieces out. You'll need to be careful in order to keep the hole square, but I found that an exacto knife would let you slide it in right on the corner, and it would loosen the scraps of carbon in the hole.

I was able to split what was remaining of the boom down the middle to get the wire out and pulled on it to get the remainder out of the frame. The wire is much stronger than I expected. Thanks for the advice.
