Today we were test flying 2 N9's and we had the following issue
the first bird was spenning at high RPM nose 2 the left as if the tail has a very low rpm and its not catching up
2nd bird had a tail wag as if the tail is holding and then letting go

What gyro, which tailblades and what rpm?

For the second bird, did you open up the ball links if you are using the Chrome pivot balls? Unscrew and remove the rudder servo arm and move the tail rod. It should be very smooth.
Sounds like something in the tail drive is slipping in the first machine.

It seems an assembly issue, where the griping tail shaft and the main gear are not placed in the proper position; which indicate a big tolerance between the said gears.
Synergy RC-UAE is ready to provide with a practical assembly tips and tricks in our work shop in Dubai.

cdrking might have this right. Check the direction of thrust bearings in the tail grips. The first thrust race going into the grip has the larger inner and outer diameter. The second one has the smaller inner and outer diameter. If you measure them with digital calipers there should be 0.2mm difference in outside diameter.
