Having trouble entering a user name in 14mz

I can't seem to figure how to get my name in under user name with my 14MZ. I get to the screen that has user name on the heading on top, but it will only allow 4 or less characters. When I type in 4 letters and hit enter it blinks and stays on the same screen like it is locked out. I contacted the previous owner thinking there was a pin # left in but he already removed it. I tried is pin to be sure and it does the same thing. I read some where that you can enter 0000, but that does the same thing. On the main screen where the user name is displayed it says "sample". Anybody have any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong here?

Sounds like it is password protected to me. Contact RCFan here on Helifreak. Felix should be able to help you to get in the service menu and see if the password has actually been reset.

I may be wrong, but if it is password protected. I don't think you can actually access any of the menus other than the home screen for the model it is on. At least that is the way it was on the 9Z. I have a 12Z, but I don't use a password.

Other than the above, I would guess you need to send it to Hobby Services.
