Has anyone tried to mount the battery where the Rx and 3 in 1 are and move the electronics below? So the battery would be more in a Trex type orientation?
Please post a pic if you have tried this.
Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the battery is a bit heavier (net weight) than the electronics and I wouldn't want that weight shifted up on a bird that only goes 11oz. with batt anyway.

Here's what I did.

Thanks for the pic. So how does it fly now with the weight closer to the rotor axis?

I think if flies better than having the weight lower. It's hard for me to tell, I do like this set up though. I made a change the other day and took out the CF rods that used to make up the battery tray. I had the battery support sitting on them, but instead I cut up an old frame and added to the frame already in place. This gave me more support in the front and the ability to not have to remove the CF battery tray rods every time I wanted to get the main gear off. Now the bottom of the heli is cleaner and I don't have to mess with that stuff.
Only problem is I'm in a rebuilding mode until tomorrow morning. She should be airworthy by 9:00 am. Sort of smacked the ground on a lower than expected uncontrolled slow turn, just didn't have the skill to pull it off, but I'm learning all the time.
I'll post another pic when it is reassembled.
