I almost have my 600n complete but I am waiting for a few various pieces yet. Need another AR7000 receiver,BEC, voltage stepdown and a receiver battery.

I cant decide what would be the better choice here.

Which BEC to use:
I was thinking of getting another 6amp align BEC, since it has been working good in my 600e. I dont think I will need the new 2in1 unit since I would never use the glow adapter anyways, But I do like the remote on/off switch though. would either be a good choice? if not any sugestions?

Any issues with the dx7 series of receiver and the align BEC's, specifically loss or low voltage cutouts. I just purchased a DX7 radio last week and just finished setting up the 600e but havent flight tested it yet. I will be using AR7000 receivers in the both the 600e and the 600n heli's.

What receiver battery would be best for the 600n?
Thinking of the 2s flightpower 2100 receiver battery, or should I use a Nicd or Nimh pack. If so what capacity/Mah would you recommend.

I already have an align 7.4 1200mah battery I could use from my 600e, but I am thinking it will get used up fairly quick considering all the electrics plus 5 digital servos. anyone using their 1200 packs with success?

What setup is everyone using? any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks for any help.

I'm getting a 6v regulator from Duralite along with a 5.3v step-down. I had a gift certificate, otherwise I probably would have gotten the Align BEC or the Align 2-in-1.

In any event, I'm planning on running somewhere around a 2000mAh 2s lipo pack on mine. I'm currently liking the Align 1900mAh 2s pack. It's really all a matter of how many flights do you want before you need to recharge. Of course you don't want too low of a capacity either. I'm no expert but I'm guessing no less than 1000 mAh and the normal range is somewhere between 1500 and 2500. I'm just guessing here so don't take my word for it.

I was using the Align BEC but am switching to the 2 in 1. I am running a TP 3400 2s lipo pack. It's not too heavy and lasts a long time. I do have a large duralite battery 4400 but I don't think I'll install it.

Why wouldn't you use the glow igniter in the 2-in-1? Why drag a external glow igniter, mess with removing the canopy or mounting a remote glow plug when the 2-in-1 is so damn convenient?

The 1200mah pack is plenty for the servos and electronics, you will just not get as many flights as say a 2100mah pack.

The Align 6amp BEC and Spektrum DX7 work perfectly together. Just make sure your RX pack voltage doesn't drop very low which should be done anyways.

the fromeco Arizona regulator is excellent ...or for less $$ the align regulator is awsome for the $$ for batteries you guys should look at the FLIGHT POWER rx packs

theFP 1600,2s2p lipo is a perfect size and LIGHT weight for a trex 600n

The 2-in-1 is nice, but unless this is the only heli you fly, or unless you switch to LiPo Rx packs and a 2-in-1 on every heli you fly, you are still going to have to carry the glow igniter. And the glow igniter is the least cumbersome of all of the glow equipment.
