Greetings,
I have been flying my Spectra G and I just love it. It is taking some getting use to because of the power to weight ratio difference compared to a 90. I am running the TRM 231, and it has about 4 gallons of gas run through it. I have been playing with the curves, but just can't seem to keep it from bogging hard on even short punchouts. What kind of curves are you other Spectra flyers running? Thanks in advance for the advice.

You may have to fly it a different "routine" than nitro stick banger style. Also maybe you have too much pitch in the blades? What blades, what pitch, etc. What muffler as well. All those variables cause differences in performance.

I run mine at 1550 in normal mode, 1650 in idle up 1 and 1750 in idle up 2. It will climb out full power loaded and lugging pretty well at full collective. But if you apply full collective and yank the cyclic stick of course its going to bog. Too much combined pitch in the blades then.

You can take a look at my gallery for some pictures of mine.

I am running 690 vBlades and the Hatori pipe. 10 degrees pitch.
I am NOT a stick banger.

Thanks,

Please pardon me but I don't know you to know if you stick bang or not. I just thought maybe you did as you talk about "punchouts". Anyways...

690's are easier to spin than 710's. Should be no problem with 10 degrees of pitch. Maybe engine needle settings are incorrect. But have you tried full power climbout with 10 degrees of pitch/full throttle and tached the rotor to see what you can get? What motor is this also? Stock 231, Toxic 231, Hanson 260? You should see at least 1700 rpms plug on vertical climbout with a 231. A 260 will get you over 1800 rpms.
