Well i just got my 600N put together and i could use some quick help with the gyro. I have always ran 401's and I decieded to step up and get the 611. I just read the entire manual but didn't get a good feel as a starting point for the heading hold. With the 401 that I have on my 600E, i have a heading hold of 73. I am running a JR 9303.

Does anyone have a quick rundown of some of the settings i need? Thanks in advance.

I have a vid showing how to set one up on the 600e.
Should be identical for the N.

To start off with just replace the 401 with the 611 in the same Rx sockets which will preserve your hardware setting on the Tx. Set the linkage to mechanical neutral - slider central, crank at 90 to frame, servo arm at 90 to link - then just set up Lmt A and B to avoid overdriving the servo and set your gain from the Tx but check the screen on the 611 to see what your end gain is ~ 74% for starters in A mode - leave the other settings for now and come back to them later when you are flying reverse piro invertyed funnels at night ....

PS The 74% I mentioned is what you dial up on the Futaba and DX7 trannies to get ~37% on the gyro :arggg: not what you set on the gyro itself!

Gain 74 is waaaay to much, move it down to 37!

Actually, 74 is about right on. I have mine around 76 I believe on my Raptor 50. He's using a JR radio system (as am I). 0-49 is non-HH and 50-100 is HH.

37 on the display of the gyro itself, where you can read the actual gain its running at when it boots.

Much more and you risk your servo.

I was just clarifying the gain setting on TCU's 401 with a 9303. Setting the gain remotely in a 9303, it is usually going to be in the 70's. :)

74%A is what you should see on the gyro screen (or a Futaba or Spectrum Tx) - and it is better to set up on the gyro screen as % on the Tx doesn't always translate to % on the gyro. The 611 manual recommends 70% for hovering and 40% for FF.

http://www.jkheli.com read his 601 setup.

I would definitely run 40% or LESS gain for 3D style flying. This would be the actual gain that is showing on the home screen of the gyro. Much more than 40% and your putting undue stress on the tail servo and it will fail prematurely.

The GY series of gyros hold very well even with less sensitivity gain setting.

I agree. I've never had to run more than 34% gain on the 611 in AVCS mode and it's never failed to hold the tail.

Well i flew it 4 tanks yesterday and what can i say, this thing blows away my sceadu. The YS and the CY MP 5, i can't believe how quiet. What a difference the 611 is over the 401. The 401 is good don't get me wrong but the holding power on tail slides, funnels, and backwards flight is amazing.

Thanks for all y'alls input.

I almost guarantee that if you run much over 38% as shown on the 611/601 display your servo wont last long!

DONT look at what your radio says look at the AMP display. That is the real gain!
