Is anyone making any type of alu or CF braces or stiffeners for the 550?
To me certain areas of the frame seem a bit wimpy and flex more than they should.
I was not very confident in the stock skids either. Mine would flex quite a bit even under the weight of the heli with only one li-po onboard. Plus they are a bit small.

The trex 600 skids work good and it gives it a little wider stance.

Yeah you can fit a Trex 600 set if you like. £7.99 for the whole thing. You just need to drill a couple of extra holes in it to fit. I'm still learning & like the extra footprint it gives me for a more stable landing. Looks nice too, but is twice the weight of the Gaui unit.
Here's mine with set fitted...

Yeah I already fitted a different set of skids. I'm not sure what they are as they have no markings (I got them on Ebay) but they might be raptor 30). Anyway, they are much sturdier and the wider footprint is probably good as is the slightly higher position it puts the tail rotor.
(And the holes were already in the right place, no need to drill !)

Got a picture of your Hurricane with the new skids mounted? Sounds intersting in that there is no need to drill new holes.

This is the first time I have uploaded a photo on here so hope this works.
This is not a very good pic but it is night here so the light leaves something to be desired.
These skids have a mild forward rake to them and holes for set-screws to secure the tubes but are otherwise very generic. They have no name or model on them at all. I got them on Ebay along with two other sets of skids and I didn't buy them for any specific purpose I just compulsively buy stuff on Ebay.
I know they are slightly smaller diameter tubing than the Shuttle or Sceadu. The seller thought they might be TT raptor.

Here's a pic of the bottom, the screws are just going into the existing holes. The only thing I had to do was use longer screws due to the difference in thickness.

You wouldn't happen to remember who the dealer is would you?
Thanks again.

This was just a private seller on Ebay. From all the pics I have seen my best guess is they are Raptor 30 skids.
