Thanks, idea not original, saw it somewhere else but always good to spread a good tip, have to carefully eye the rod alignment with the servo horn holes, otherwise accuracy is very good.

Getting closer, email received for colour choices etc, bloody Paypal, had to do the bank transfer thing due to amount, payment delayed by a few days, shouldnt matter though.

Re-thought the servo bus, last one I made was too wide, realised when I received the nice motor mount. Dont want to use the integrated cheepo Blue tooth anyway now that I have the posh Spartan one.

Anyway, made another smaller version, utilising a 15 Pin D-Type plastic shell, butchered it so its even smaller but worked out very well. Still have only 3 cables required to the Vbar + Satellites.
The bottom cables are spot soldered to the pins and covers pushed over for good insulation.
There are 5 signal wires for 4 servos and throttle and 2 supply pairs for the Vbar Mini, more than enough. The servo main load will come straight off the bus rather than via the Vbar.

OK despite submitting photographic evidence of the dead Lipo received, HK are playing the game everyone talks about. I must return the battery, yet they will not compensate for costs incurred, WTF.
Clear breach of contract in any civilised legal domain, we entered into an agreement, I pay for serviceable batteries and postage costs, they have crap quality control and send a duff one, they refuse to replace unless I incur more cost with postage etc, well I was warned!
Thats game over HK, lost another customer and I would advise anyone to use a "reputable" source!

Just got a pair of GensAce 5300's delivered yesterday. The issues are just too frequent with HK now. Sad, they had a nice thing going for a while... or at least we did anyway. :dontknow

Did you try the forum way I did it last time? I'll go get a link, only hope you really got bro. Do what I did, take a pic, toss HK in front of their forum bus and see if they're willing to be that way publicly. ;) I'll PM you a link to my post back then. Best of luck man.

I do love my Gens Ace 5300's. Regular flight time is 9m, (incl 5-6 min of practicing tic-tocs and the like at 1750rpm). No signs of strain at speed flights (2050 rpm).
Not all series fit though.

So this week ends on a high, HK gave me a full credit, ordered a replacement battery and a Scorpion for my 550, so 4 flight packs soon. Best of all, Jan just emailed, "Kit will be posted next week by DHL" :bacon:bacon

Sorry to bore every one, just pleased that my kit and spares are with DHL, so unless a slug on valium is carrying it, should have it by the weekend if by air or early next week if they use road to Athens! My birthday is Tuesday so a chance here. Photo of inventory check, yes I got bored today lol.

Congratulations! I see that you got the FAI V2 blades. They are 35 grams heavier than the V2 blades.

195 grams vs 230 grams

Yes fairly new to heli's and went for them after reports of really stable in FF etc. Have a pair of Jan's white blades comming with the kit but expect these Radix will be fine until I ramp up the skills a bit!

The heavier FAI blades will run better in speed with slightly less agility. Anything shy of StickBangers will fly just fine in the Radix line, either v1 or v2. Starting out with something you'll want later anyway = good thinking.

Well to be honest, had a 20yr break from the hobby, did fly planks, got some Mini Titans going in Jan/Feb then a Trex550 a month later, just love putting kits together, reminds me of mechano all those years ago. Anyway, 550 going very well some scares when I get adventurous but watched some F3C guys doing their aerobatic routine so happy working with that. Quite happy doing loops rolls Cuban Eights, nice steep banked turns, not quite hurricanes but getting it.
Last weekend I had a strange incident, pulled a loop and intended to do an inverted fly past, pulled too hard and it plumeted to earth, however, a few feet before impact I whacked in full negative, spectators said I did an amazing flip and Pyro routine obviously some over correction here and there, none of it was conscious thought as such, but flipped and it climbed out of trouble right way up.
I can only think this was instinctive having done so much on Phoenix FS, wish I had it on camera because it was just a blur!
So the TDR is a big step up, but I know it is stable and easy to fly, I know that I will not be ready for crazy 3D stuff for a long while but sports flying and VFF appeals, my hobby and my take on it, I just love nicely engineered devices and putting them together so really looking forward to all aspects of the project.

I'm absolutely dying to hear what you have to say once its delivered, assembled, and after it's first maiden flight. It is always fun to relive the excitement and overall discovery of a first-time TDR owner. I'm not quite done with my first year as one but I remember those feelings every time I see a thread like this one.

You coming from the models you listed.... this is going to be epic :peace

Not holding out much hope for a birthday delivery, DHL tracking still shows in Germany:
Fri, 20.04.12 07:32 h IPZ-Ffm, DE

Whatever that means, misunderstood, DHL from Germany probably does not mean full courier service of 3/4 days across Europe, would have paid extra for that but never mind.

Wired up the Kontronic ESC and tack soldered an EC5 for a quick 6S check today, a sigh of relief when the ESC made its signature beeps (well motor actually) and spun the motor for a few secs, so thats proven along with all the radio gear and Vbar, good to go :Bang

Have you tried to copy and paste the tracking# to your domestic postal service. You may be surprised...;)

And not the 'all-numbers' one listed by DHL. You want the 'CL******..." number above it on the DHL site. Put that in your local tracking service and see what you get. /shrug

All in perfect order, spare tail stick bits too, apparently overpaid some VAT on spares so Jan included Frame stiffeners and the new heat resistant black gear too, Fantastich!

Not bad all in 8 days and no customs nonsense, feel for the guys in USA.
