Is there a good reason to spend the extra $ if I do not need the extra channels?

I fly my V2 w/ an R146iP and it works great. The 6 channel Rx is smaller and lighter too. The only reason to go bigger is if you're planning to use the Rx in something else in the future, like a nitro bird w/ a gov. or something.

What are you putting it in?

the 146 is considered a park flyer or short range reciever, though some use it for full size nitro ships, its single conversion and I'm not a fan of doing that.

Trex 450 or something similar its the way to go.

I was looking to save a few bucks on electronics for my hurricane.I guess I can forget about that though since you said "short range".I have one on my 450 but I seldom get very far since I'm just learning.By the way I am from J-ville also, lived there for 43 years. todd

Cool. We've got a pretty good heli following going down here now. I run an event out at Gateway in the spring and it looks like there's going to be a fall event at Jax RC this year.
