Hello,
I have been researching this heli for awhile and decided to purchase one ! :)
I already have a Swift so I was wondering if I can use my Century Outrunner 600+ motor on the Hurricane550 ? Here are the specs of the motor: http://www.heli-world.com/CENTURYHELI/productdetail.aspx?ID=CNE273
Hopefully I can use the motor with my trex 2100 packs !
Thanks

Yes, you can, the Century 600+ is a Z30-1100 motor which is being used by others although it gives the main gears a hard time, I'm intending to go the same route myself with the motor in my Swift although I'm not sure of the main gear to use.

Yes I am also using the 600+
You WILL need the new Gaui motor mount AND you will need Adrins new gears.
Two 2100 packs will get you 4 minutes of averge flying.

Bob, I just beat you! I've got a 550EP on the way and have already received the new motor mount and extended shaft, what pinion are you running with the 600+?

I am running Adrian's 23T pinion on mine. Getting 2400 at 100% flat throttle curve.

Thanks for that Bob, I'll get an order in to ReadyHeli as soon as they show the new stronger main gears in stock. What module are the gears?

Is ReadyHeli the only online provider of Adrian's Gears ? Also what's the ETA on them ? :D

The gears will be in late this week.
The RevCo 1st gear is .6M so you can use the range of pinions originally made for the Lepton. I fly a 22T at 2300rpm, Bob and the Ready Heli Guys are running 23T at 2400rpm.
The Main gear is normal .8M 61T but really strong.

I flew the CRAP out of mine Saturday.... Sorry no vids as this was a weekend off for me to have fun. Needless to say My Hurricane is finally 100% flying the way I like it! Lots of power and RELIABLE!
Adrian's gear are a MUST HAVE PERIOD!

Great to hear Bob !!
Do you recommend using 550's or staying at 500mm on the blades for the Outrunner 600+ ? Also are you using the Raptor Tail with the600+ ?

I think this heli is best with blades in the 475mm to 515mm range. This puts less stress on our power systems than 550's. This heli is so light that it really moves out with these blades.

How is the new motor mount different to the old one and what are the benefits?
Is it being sold in the new kits as standard?
Cheers all

I have now seen how the new motor mount is different from the old one
Is this just an upgrade part or are they now selling this as standard in the kits?

OK so
I will assume that this is an upgrade and not a new standard part
Many thanks

You dont need that with the stock motor but I reccomend it anyway.

It certainly looks like it should have been designed like that from the start make alot o sense to have the gear supported both sides
I wonder if they will ever incorporate it in the kits as standard?
Thanks all

I bet they will... why would they manufacture 2 parts long term? Doesnt make sense to me.
