Does anybody fly seperate packs on bigger machines, like 2 6s packs or similar setup?
Could one fly 2 6S 3700mah packs to make 12s or a 6s 3700 and a 4s 3700 to make a 10s pack, reliably?
Why I'm asking is I'm thinking of setting up a 12s Logo, but it if it doesn't work out, I can get some 4s 3700's and then just fly as 10s?
On the above setup, the Hyperion charger mentioned in earlier post, can balance the sels accross two pack, which looks kinda nice.
Any thoughts other than 'Why do you want to fly Logo 14 on 12s?'.
Thanks.

Yes! All the Minature electric machines use 2 packs in series to make up 10 or 12 S. One thing to keep in mind is to keep the packs as a "set". Dont use them seperatly for anything else & charge them as a set as in a 10s or 12s pack. This will keep them "matched" & give you a good life out of them.

Well thanks Dude. Do you know why one should not use them seperately?
I would gues if the output of the two packs get too dissimalar, it would degrate the good one faster?
Thanks for the info Dude.
PS: What is the Minature machines you talk about?

Yes if one pack is degrated alittle it will have an affect on the other one.
The Ion & the Razor both use 2 packs in series.

just a comment on this topic.i have not had much luck charging my tp packs with tp charger and balancer for my razor in series. it seems to throw them out of wack. charging them seperatley does a nice job though

I do stand corrected most of the packs are charged in parallel but are used in series.
Here is a pic of Wills set up charging 2 of his packs for the Razor he had.

i never considered that Steve. maybe my stuff will charge better in parallel than in series. charging them at the same time sure is more convenient

I also charge my t-rex packs in series with 2 V-Balances. But, I read another thread where the chap mentions that the voltage has to be within .5V of each other, else the one pack will charge the other, ontop of the charger which then resuts in a high C rate charge. He suggested to leave them connected for a few minutes, then start charging. I did a few tests, but seems as if my packs are under .5v difference when I parralel charge. This is kinda the same argument you use for keepeing pack's married which flies together, but just in reverse, I guess.
Also, the Huperion charger and balancer with 2 balancer modules can balance each cell in both packs during parralel charging. I'm thinking of getting that setup for 10-12s charging.
Thanks anyway chaps!
