View Full Version : Any issues with Electrifly 3s packs?

As part of the combo I got when I bought my MX450, I got an Electrifly LiPo pack and charger. Well, I wouldn't have bought this pack anyway, but since it came with the kit... In any case I've got a couple of TP packs and one Align pack that I use normally anyway.

Anyway....

I connected the pack to the charger for the first time last night. The pack has never been used, I just wanted to top it off before putting it into service. The charger was fine for a few minutes, then started beeping and flashing a code, which the manual says is a "voltage error" alarm. I originally thought it meant input voltage to the charger, but I've since found that not to be the case.

I pulled the pack off the charger and measured at the output terminals. The pack is reading 3.8V.

Now, I'm a noob, but should a 3s LiPo pack not show between 9.0 and 12.4V depending on charge state?

I emailed GreatPlanes and they are noncommittal, but told me to send the pack to them for examination. Am I correct that this pack appears to be hosed? If I'd used it even once, or charged it incorrectly, I'd be less likely to blame the pack, but it literally came right out of the bag and went onto the charger.

Anyone have any input on Electrifly LiPos?
